Taking furniture to Spain in my own van

Hi There

We're looking to take some furniture from UK to Oliva (Valencia Province), can anyone tell me if we can just throw stuff in the back of the van and just take it or do we need a customs manifest/declaration of some sort?

Just thinking of some household items, sofa, table, chairs, bed, etc.

Ive done it a coulpe of times, never had any probs with customs, they once had a quick look in-side.

Except in the case of stuff which is obviously new (for which you should have receipts showing VAT paid)  you should have no problems. A manifest isnt necessary. The only proviso would be to watch you gross weight. If the van is registered as commercial rather than PLG you should also comply with E.U. driving hours and tachograph requirements. Have in mind also that French and Spanish police can and do carry out roadside checks.
