utilities and costings

Hi all

so far all going ok in our quest to move permnantly to spain in the new year, heading for andalusia

have a few questions, has/does anyone use solar panals while still connected to the grid, and is it true about the sharp rise in cost as the subsidies are cut or removed

has/does anyone use whole house water filters, if so what type, costs, availability and reliability

we have priced them in the uk and looking at whole house possibly 5 micron filterd and on one kitchen tap down to 1 micron for drinking

any advice/info would be helpfull

The electricity bill has seen a rise of about 10 to 20% in the last year alone, depending on the type of contract that you have. We officially have the most expensive electricity bill in Europe...

As for the solar panel subsidies, the government has made a huge u turn and not only they have scrapped it, but they will actually charge a fee in your bill for having them installed so a lot of people who were planning to install them have changed their mind.

You find the same water filters here that you have in the UK. The price depends on where you buy them, if you are unsure, just get them on amazon uk and any order over 20GBP is dekivered to your doorstep in Spain for free. One thing to consider is that you will need to test the water of each tap to get the right level of filtration.
