Hi all, just signed up to the site.  Hoping to sell one property and get decent rentals on another.  How easy is it to move to Spain?

Colin

Hi Rexton and welcome to EOS.  How easy is it to move to Spain? Wow, what a question.  Simple answer, get a £1.00 flight in January and fly over.  Complicated answer, very.  Depends on family, work, where you want to live, how much you can afford etc.  etc. etc. Have a trawl through some of the threads (forum geek name for subjects) and see some of the problems and answers given.  If you're retiring, dead easy to buy a resale nowadays.  Also dead easy to buy an off plan for the future but, as the saying goes, Caveat Emptor (buyer beware).  This site is brilliant for pointing out some of the pitfalls but one little statistic may help you.  For every 1 person that has a problem with the system, 5000 don't.  It's only the problems that will be highlighted which makes it seem much worse than it is.  I have every sympathy for those who have had problems (and I am one of those) but we live and learn.  Take the advice given on these posts (another forum geek word) and go in with your eyes wide open.  The last thing you want to do is buy on a whim and live to regret it later.  I just wish I had found this site before I first bought.

Enjoy this excellent site.

Thanks.  Our plan was to move to Spain in 5 years but 2 years into that plan and after 30 years of being married, she left me, so location is even more important now.  I have an apartment in Playa Honda, which could always be a start I suppose but the location was chosen for the holiday market.  Have liked what I have seen on the site so far

Hi Rexton

welcome to EOS, hope you enjoy the site & forum.

How easy is it to move to Spain?

Very if you have loads of money and no family holding you here!

I have none of the above so use it as a holiday home!

Kind regards,
