Hi - can anyone please give me some back ground information on Cucador?

I would like to know any details that you may have - we are retired so don't need school info etc.

I would also really like to know what the winter weather is like as we intend to use throughout the year.

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

Cucador. Some urbanisations with  questions re legality.

Close to the villages of La Alfoquia and Zurgena and town of Albox.

Lots of Brits live in the area.

Temps in winter can sometimes be on par with Southern England so heating and duvets a necessity.

Having transport is a MUST.

Although we are not there all year long, we just love the location.

Very quiet.

All the basics - bars, banks, pharmacy, supermarket & other shops etc in the local villages - La Alfoquia and Zurgena.

Mainly Brits

Just buy very carefully with a good solicitor.

Winter lasts about 10-12 weeks when you DO need heating at least early morning & at night - although seasonal weather doesn't seem very predictable anywhere these days!  Some folks put rugs down for the winter.

Spend some time in the local bars and have a chat with the locals to build up your own knowledge of they area - rent a place for a few weeks if practical.

Wishing you well

Hi Smiffy - many thanks for the info - it's much appreciated.

I am trying to get a place to escape the worst of the UK winter as I am an asthmatic.

Are the winter months wet or dry?

We love Almeria as a whole but don't really know the inland areas very well (30 mins from the coast).

For the same money (about 100k euros) we appear to get a LOT MORE for the money inland but don't want to go to far away from the coast.

Regards

Steve
