Solmar near Murcia Airport

We are thinking of booking a Solmar car but it states that we will be taken by shuttle bus to their offices.  Anyone know how far away this is please - hopefully not Murcia!

 Hi, I believe it is just up the other end of the airport near the military air base, on the edge of Santiago de la Ribera, so just 5 mins ride.

Hi Lawpen, there are about six car hire companies inside the airport.  Before we bought a car we used to book through Carehire3000 they use most of these companies.

There has been a lot of talk on EOS about fuel policies, but if you can try and get the full return full option.

Thanks for replies.  Solmar is considerably cheaper than other hire companies for the time when we're going to Spain, plus the fact that the 2nd driver is included in the price.  At Easter we were charged 52euros + tax for 2nd driver with Europcar which was 20+ euros (inc tax)  more than the contract agreed with the agent.  Still contesting this.

Just check about the 2nd driver as we used Solmar in April and we were charged for the second driver. Also Solmar charge for the fuel - about 70 euros when it only cost us 40 euros to fill ourselves. There office is just in San Javier just off the main road into the centre where the small industrial area is.

Sol-Mar and my  .................:-/

Last summer i July we rented a car from Sol-Mar. At their desk in Alicante they charges without any notice/explanation extra 120 euros for a one week rent (Fiesta) on top of the pre-rent payment. Take it or leave it.

Since then - no gracias Sol-Mar

 Leave the airport and head to the motorway. Last roundabout before the motorway, turn right and go to the next roundabout. Turn left and Solmar are on the estate ther. No more than a 5 minute drive from the pick up are.

I got full/ full last year with Lococar.com, but this year it is full/ empty.

Just a word of warning from personal experience - the cars were cheap when we rented from Solmar last year but we've never had a worse car. Old with high mileage - only redeeming feature was the price. Maybe we were unlucky but wont go back.
