Hello! My name is James and I live in Madrid.

I want to try and set up my own online community website but I am finding it difficult. I have used website such as comlink and comun-basic, but I did not find them very helpful.

Some websites seem a lot better. Votoweb is one and another one is Urbytus, which is multilingual and seems useful.

But as I do not have much experience, I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or recommendations for me?

Thanking you all in advance.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Jatin

We have used Create.net to build two websites and it works well and is easy to use.  But do not know if it will work as a communtity forum but take a look I'm sure it will tell you some where if it will do the job you want.  You will have to pay but it is not much and you can try it out for a while first.

Hope this is of help.

I have been doing some more research and I have been told that using word press and other free platforms, do not comply with the data protection act in Spain.

Although as I’ve managed to figure out, Urbytus seems to have specific modules written for communities, such as AGM section, Proxy voting and they also do a digital version of certified (post) emails that tracks who has received and read the messages and not.  I was wondering if anyone has used them?

I am researching the other alternatives I mentioned before, so if anyone can offer any help, I would be more than grateful.

Thanking you all in advance.

James

Do not comply with Data protection act in Spain, who makes this bull up?? Seriously, take no notice.

Wordpress is a great content management system, safe and very very well made.

The thing is you will have to have good computer knowledge to set up the domain, hosting and install wordpress onto your site. I made this website in a day: www.satellitetvcostadelsol.com

You can create whole websites, interactive or not, with comments, or not, its very very flexible.

Let us know what you decide to go with in the end.

All the best and good luck!
