Has anybody successfully ordered furniture on line, successfully paid for with an English credit card and arranged for home delivery on a pre-arranged date when you don't speak Spanish? (I will be arriving in Spain the day before)

I would be most grateful for any practical advice, on what to do and what not to do.

The IKEA store I will be using is the one located in Murcia.

Thanks for any assistance Alan

The UK credit Card or a Debit Card is no problem whatsoever.

I live in Spain am at present the Malaysia, last week I was in Thailand and the month before that in Philippines. I used my card everywhere exactly as one would in UK.

You are of course charged in the local currency, and if you are lucky enough to have a card with Nationwide, you get the best exchange rate and only a 2% charge (plus £1 per transaction if you draw cash, but take care to choose an ATM which does not charge).

As for IKEA. I have never bought anything from them

Alan, you can't actually order products from ikea.es online.  You can make a "wishlist" on there but you can't actually order or pay for them via their website.

You have to go down to the store and order them there.

Justin
