More bad news

Breaking news this weekend that Spanair has ceased trading, our friend who works for Iberia told us earlier.

Just goes to show that nobody is immune from these hard economic times.... worrying really...

Spanair have never operated B737's...

B717, MD80's, all relaced by A320 / A321; B757 and B767 for longhaul (but retired from fleet years ago)

7 x A320's were noted in flight on 15/16 Feb 2012 no doubt en route to Dublin for return to the aircraft lessor, ILFC Dublin

All A320's leased from ILFC Dublin have been returned to Dublin, their Spanish registrations cancelled, replaced by Irish reg.

Maybe if Valencian authorities had kept their eye on the ball instead of kow-towing to the demands of a certain other airline then Spanair might still be in business.
