Reading various thread comments, obvious that lots of you live here on income generated in UK. Need your sage ideas regarding a potential opportunity for me.
I moved to Spain as I was employed by an international NGO. Have had my NIE (residencia y trabajo) for 3+ years (recently renewed for another two). I am a US passport holder.
I have possiblity of employment with a UK international NGO that does not have any partner or recuriting or fundraising offices in Spain. (There is a US office of this NGO.)
Getting work visas in the UK for US citizens these days is damn near impossible. (Although I have had residency and work visas there in the 1990's).
If UK NGO would consider letting me work from Spain, what options can I pursue to set up to do this legally? I don't think I could be considered self-employed, as I would definately have a work contract with the UK org. I would prefer to be paid in Euros, and I would prefer to pay all taxes (income, etc.) and social security in Spain, but would not require that.
Any info or advice will be deeply appreciated!
