,,i must admit i was not convinced by this thread but i have just been to the supermarket and couldnt pay because they were checking the numbers and mine had the dreaded Y number''

lostagain, that is very interesting. Would you be able to elaborate a little bit? I am trying to find examples of that happening.

I suspected as much. Your ,, i must admit i was not convinced but'' threw me enough to check, though.

Faisal Islam seems to be better connected than the German Minister for Finance.

My real fear is that Frankfurt and Berlin haven’t even had the conversations that I have just had here in Davos.

Really?

And yet

Let me be clear: this is not a prediction of imminent euro or banking collapse. Far from it. Regulators suggest that these are reasonable contingencies, or insurance against so-called “tail risks”. Another UK financial CEO told me that he had heard of this stuff, but that it wasn’t going to be needed. Saving the euro will cost a horrible €500bn, but not saving it will cost a calamitous €3tr. And they will save it, eventually.

The whole blog is just hot air, once again a report based on unnamed sources and creative writing.

Having read most of these "Thoughts of other people",I must say i take most of what has been written very light heartedly,It is surely what people think, and not what is known,so lets treat is as a bit of fun,we still have the horrible truth to follow at some time in the future.

Lets be fare,If anybody did know what was going to happen with the Euro in the near future, would they really tell everybody on a forum what to do to make money,or would they keep it quiet, and just whisper it to friends and family, after they had got everything they could out of the situation, really lighten up,it is a question of wait and see and try to enjoy the ride

Cove Robert - if it's hot air why are you still blowing?

I can fly my own kites as can many others on this thread we dont need your hot air!

David

I started this thread as a bit of fun and an opportunity for much hot air blowing.  The problem with these threads they are overtaken by negativity OR/AND pomposity!!

Great cricket by the way David - glad I did not waste my money flying out!!

Bri - glad you didn't botter to fly out for the cricket has been less than satisfactory for any English supporter. Only a short(ish) drive for me and he next match is here in Dubai so don't even have to drive as I can walk to the stadium.

Guess when i move back to Australia at the end of March will have to swop my support back to Australia.

Just hope Andrew and the boys make a better match of it for the last test. Tickets are cheap and it might be worth a visit.

David

Now seriously, I write that Faisal Islams blog is all hot air and that gets your feathers ruffled? Is that your problem?

For goodness sake - give it a rest.   And as to the cricket - not worth the walk either I shouldn't think, though I do like to see them in Australia myself (though I always have a sneaky leaning to the Aussies anyway).

Fair enough. Plenty of hot air to fly a glider but no substance whatsoever. You accomplished your mission.

Don't fall over the edge. There is a blog somewhere says the earth is flat as a pancake.

Happy flying.
