mortgage applied for

we have applied to cam bank for a mortgate to purchase a repo from them they have had our dep for 6 weeks and all our paper work for 3 weeks and they havent given us a desion yet our lawyer says we just have to wait is this normal any feedback would be appreciated as we are a little concerned at the time taken. 

Well, CAM hardly have the best reptutation in Spain

I remember that when we applied for our mortgage (different bank) it did take 3 or 4 weeks so I suspect that it's a normal timeframe.

But considering how desparate CAM are to offload their huge stock of properties you would think they would try and speed up the process a little!

Ths is an extract from a newsletter which I edited today:-  

The bank CAM (new shell for previous saving banks CAM) has been sold to Catalan bank Sabadell, the only bank to make a binding offer. Most of the funds for the recapitalisation of the defunct entity will come from the Fund for Guarantee of Deposits; Sabadell will close 300 CAM offices.

As the bank may have changed hands since you made the application maybe you might need to confirm that the offer is still as it was.

hiya have you got any further with it? Ours took ages to be approved, it was approved at the beginning of the year and since then it has been stuck! Nothing further, they said yes though but now we can't do anything as it is stuck in the system.....is that usual?!
