Spanish Road Tax

Some advise please, I recently purchased a second hand car from a dealer in Cartagena, they dealt with all the paperwork for me and gave me the relevant doc's on completion. However my 'Spanglish' does leave a bit to be desired and Iam not sure about the procedure on road tax, will the vehicle be covered, do trafico send reminders to the address on my Padron? any advice appreciated

Road tax is not delt with by Trafico. It's a local thing, delt with by your Ajunament. In my area it's called BASE.

Here it's payed around May time. I don't think we get reminders, we've set up a DD so they take it when due. They're often late!

Go to your Ajunament and ask what day their road tax person is there. They'll be able to tell you if the tax has been paid for this year.
