The threat to air travel has been lifted after AENA accepted assurances that there would be no redundancies as a consequences of change of ownership.

The strike hasn't actually been called off yet.  It's just a preliminary agreement and I think it needs to be voted on by the Unions.

Sanchez1 is right!

It's not official.... but it's a positive step forward!

However, the damage is done as I can't see all the rags back in the UK saying that the strikes are called off... if and when they are called off!

Never mind, up to us to help spread the word.

Hopefully this will be good news for Tourism in Spain - if the damage hasn't already been done.

'morning all. Does anyone know if the airport workers unions have voted to call off the Aena strike yet ?  I did see news that they were due to vote on the 22nd--but not seen anything yet regarding the result

Our flights were booked ( pre strike dates announcement) way in advance for April 30th, but we've held off booking parking/overnight hotel until we know for sure that the strike is off

Starting to get twitchy now as it nears the cut off dates for early car parking/hotel booking discounts

But hey, never mind if  it all falls apart--with the 1p a litre off petrol budget from George (" we're all in this together-have the chauffer bring the limo 'round the front door") Osborne, I can afford to tank up the truck and drive from Lincoln to Valencia Skegness in April

Any news would be much appreciated.

Supposed to be voting today 24th.

Lets wait and see
