Pancake day!
| The Comments |
Hi all,
I just managed to make some passable pancakes for my son without shouting, swearing or throwing the pan across the kitchen!
Must be the spanish flour.
Have fun.
Regards, Febe

I must admit that we use normal Spanish flour for most of the cooking. However, for the important things in life (like yorkshire puds and pancakes) we get a small pack of self raising flour from Iceland (or Gama). You can add baking soda (Royal) to the Spanish flour but we never seem to get the proportions right.

Now TechNo that's just cheating.
You've got to be up to your neck in flour (be it spanish, home pride or other) with egg on your face and using so much milk that there's not enough left for your tea in the morning!
Or is that just in my house?
But well done you for remembering (that does not look right, should it have more m's?)
Bobaol, I may well be wrong here but I think it's the egg that makes it raise. I've had no probs. with yorkshire puds with the spanish flour (harina de trigo, repostería) so long as the oven/oil are both good and hot.
Take care, Febe
