Taking new ps3 from uk

Hi, not sure if anyone can answer this but worth a try.. I'm visiting my nephew who lives in Gandia with my sister at the end of February. We are flying into alicante, as it's his birthday we want to take a ps3 from uk to Spain, do we have to pay any special tax on it at the airport or can we just take it on board as hand luggage? Hope someone out there can help, thanks Rozie

I wouldn't have it as hand luggage if I were you. Wrap it up well and put it in your case in the hold. There shouldn't be any duty or tax problems with something like that.

I've brought similar items over this way and never had any problem.

 you wont have any problems you will not pass through customs coming into spain

I brought my ps3 over 2 years ago in my hand luggage, but that was before they started putting bombs in printer cartridges.  I'm sure it's still ok though.  Laptops are still fines as hand luggage.

There will be no tax or duty to pay.

 Brought a PS2 and a Sky box over in hand luggage, better than wrapping and hoping the baggage handlers don't damage it!! Have you looked into the costs of having it sent by post/ courier? There can be some reasonable prices out there.
