TDT HD Not Working

UI understood that the TDT HD Channels were up and running now. I get the sound on my non HD receiver for tyhe HD Channerls so I know that they exist but on my HD TV with built in TDT receiver I get 'No Service' message. 

Its not an old Tv by any means.

its an LG M228WDP HD TV/Monitor.

Am I missing something here?

Just because you have a HDTV, and its is capable of showing things from an external HD source (Skyhd, HDDVD player) in HD,  that does not mean the HD TV has a built in HD TDT tuner built into it.

Which sounds like the case, why you can hear but not see the TDT HD channels, and get the "no Service" message.

So it sounds like you have a HD TV, with a SD TDT tuner.

Not a HD TV with a HD TDT tuner.

Very nivce of you to respond.

I specically bought the TV as HD Ready with TDT built in ready to pick up the FTA Spanish Channles.

Its seems weird that they have produced a HD Set without a HD Receiver?

Why would they do such a idiotic thing?

Anyway, any suggestions for upgrading the TDT that's built in?

A HD Ready TV says it will display HD from an external source.

A HD Ready TV is NOT The same as a HD TV.

Quite a few HD TVs are on sale, and they do not have a HD TDT tuner built in.

It does not help when the store assistance dont know the difference either, but these days more and more HDTVs are HDTDT compataible....and they are getting more common than HD Ready Tvs....

There are a number of ways for you to get the HD TDT channels:

get a new TV

get a HD TDT receiver / set top box.

I have one here in stock, but I do not deliver I am afraid - and you are (i think) a bit out of my service area. There should besome company down there with one available...

I ahve a handle oin this now.

The salesperson at PC City directly told me that it would work because I specifically asked her and she asked her manager!

I particularly wanted to have a built in HDTDT as I just don't like all these boxes around the TV.

I been onto LG and they confirm what you say and I didn't doubt you.....they must be embarressed by the flack they are getting!

Do you supply built in HDTDT receivers? or set top models? Are they expensive?

You should expand your business down here as we need you!

Usually, you will have to buy a new HDTV with built in HD TDT tuner...

And HD TDT set top boxes are getting more and more available these days...and they normally come with USB recording capability also...sorry I have no idea on price but would guess at around 100 euros...
