Hi all,

Here in Manilva there is a rumour that a very long Holiday Weekend has started today, Saturday 04th December, and the shops will be shut from Sunday until Thursday next week?

Now I am aware of:

Constitution Day: Monday 6th

Immaculate Conception: Wednesday 8th

However I am not aware of any local, provincial or national public holiday on Tuesday 7th, so can anyone shed any light on this?

Most people are taking the Tuesday off as a "puente".  It's not an official holiday but all the schools are closed and so many businesses will be closed too.

Better make sure you've got enough food in.

The main supermarkets will be open on Tuesday, plus Aldi (at least in Jumilla) is actually open on Sunday morning and on Wednesday.

PS I suspect that all bars and restaurants will be open to make the most of the festivos, so you are unlikely to starve!

Consum in Jumilla was closed this morning, however both Días were open and the one in the town centre is going to be open on Wednesday as well as Sundays from now until 2 January.  Aldi will be open every Sunday in December.

Lidl was open today, and will be open every Sunday over Christmas!

Confused I am, but at least we let people know that they may, and might well, have problems shopping and/or banking until Thursday!
