LLoyds Bank Charges

I have just received my first statement from Lloyds international since they took over Halifax Hispania and they have charged me €18.00 for my last bank transfer from the UK to Spain. I use Smart Currency Exchange to get a better rate than the banks give and I have never been charged before when the bank was Halifax Hispania.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I had a similar issue with them a few months back. I spoke with Bancaja and the manager told me I could open a Stirling Current account (and a sterling savings account that paid 3% a year if I kept a min of 2k in for a min of 12 months), but the best part was that they didn't charge to receive funds from another bank - UK or Spain. You can then transfer from your Stirling to Euro accounts for just a few cents in fees.
