NIE in Guadamar

I have some friends coming over to Guadamar - can anyone tell me where the best place to get an NIE is and is it possible to get the paperwork done the same day or at least within the week.

The best place is probably Elche. Failing that applications can be lodged in Alicante although they recently advised us that they would only be issued the same day in emergency circumstances. Beyond these two locations you could consider Torrevieja or Orihuela although be advised that I have known applications to be refused where the address given fails to fall within the remit of the particular police station.

We went to Torrevieja for ours but when we gave a San Fulgencio address they said it was oiutside their area and we had to wait 2 weeks to collect it so we waited 2 months until our next visit.

A quick question abouth addresses - my friends won't have a Spanish address as they haven't bought yet - I thought you could leave the address blank ?

 

Hi Spainops,

You can leave the address blank or put a uk address on it and update it at a later date.

Nie can be done in torrevieja for guardamar as i have just done it for a client who bought there.

It took 15 mins in the ayuntamiento and i collected them in 7 days as the client had returned to the uk.

You just sign an authorisation to allow another party to collect them.

It really is a very simple process and nothing to worry about.

I will find out the address for you as i have always been there from memory and never thought to look at the street name.

You will have to prepare an application form first and include 3 passport size photos as well.

As a rule we always get the solicitor to prepare these and then i will accompany clients to the ayuntamiento.

I am not sure what poosition your friends are in as generally people apply for nie after deciding on purchase and solicitor?or are they just wanting to apply for nie.
