Insurance Claim - Damaged Tiled Floor
| The Comments |
We arrived for our annual summer break to find that the floor tiles in one of our ground floor rooms have shifted, causing a pryamid effect on a row of tiles along the whole length of the flloor. Nothing is evident from looking in the underbulid.
Our Community has buildings insurance and I have reported the problem to our Administrators through our president. That was 3 weeks ago. And I have heard nothing since....probably because it's holiday season?
Are these sort of repairs generally covered under a Communitie's Building Insurance?

Is this a new build?
If so, the damage may be caused by settlement, in which case, the builder will, or should have a building guarantee in place.
It would be the builder that should repair the damage.
Other than that, I think the buildings in surance would cover this.
If you have not heard back from your Presidente, then ask for the contact details of the building insurer and contact them directly.
