New roundabout at star of the seas

Hi all. Good news.  Looks like a new roundabout is being built by the Star of the Seas.  They have been working on it for about 3 days now and the shape of a roundabout is taking place.   Hopefully it will be completed in the next two weeks.

The roundabout does not look that big, so I think they may be some lane filtering as we approach it.

great news please can you post some pictures as it develops, no more driving to Benalmadena to get to DJ!

Don't get too excited about it, The roundabout is indeed very small and a large car will probably have trouble going round it without reversing but turning left in either direction (towards Benalmadena or Los Boliches) on Avd Carvajal should be easy.

Also, if the (very short) road towards the Paseo maritimo is busy there could be hold-ups for through traffic at the roundabout. Time will tell if it is a useful and welcome change. However, it is a pleasant looking piece of work and appears to be well constructed.

Roundabout started and finished in just two weeks, ( a new Spanish record ) just shows you they can DO it,  if its going to eat into their summer holidays.    All completed and now open including....Road Markings.....removal of Speed bumps....nicely finished stone work......artifical grass....and Tree in the centre.    A Taxi last week at 3 in the morning was just Nine Euros, from the Centre to Don Juan,   should be even less now......Good luck with that.       Mind you if anyone didn´t know there is now a Bus at four in the morning, back to Carvajal....Summer Buses

Is this bus the L4 that goes past us on the main road, or a private bus. How often does it run and from where can you pick up and drop off.

I think the Taxi was only Nine because I was rattling on about what the NEW price Should  be......I had him laughing at one point ( very rare) and he made it Nine for a joke,  If you don´t speak any Spanish it could be any Price.  

  The bus is the normal 120 Fuengirola to Torremolinos, but is only for July and August.   The buses of note from Fuengirola are 2.00 A.M and finally the 4.15  if your later than that Westport WELL DONE  but just get a Taxi and tell the driver Martin says its Nine (good luck) with that..

I think the roundabout is great, you have to be careful when there is a lot of traffic because its small, but so nice we can turn of to DJ immediately or go to the boulevard  straight away!

At least an improvement I think!
