breech of contract?

Hi All,

Just thought I would let you know the info I discovered today at a Masa exhibition that I went to in Canterbury. It is the first one I've seen so went along. It was run by Masa UK office.

Firstly out of 35 advert boards there was only 1 for SG, the picture showing a Millenium.

The man I spoke to was very interested in what I had to say and has promised to get back to me with any answers to my questions, however he did not know anything about SG, not even where it was! he wasn't aware of any delays or problems.

He was surprised by what I was saying and asked if I had been getting my bi-monthly updates from Masa? does anyone get one of these, because I certainly havn't?, apprently we should all get them, advising us on progress etc and anticipated completions etc, and they are even sent if "no progress to report" just to keep us informed!

Does anyone know why Masa continually show only the millenium property? I have got their brochure as well - 2007, in there it only shows the Millenium, no albatros or opens? Have they stopped building these after phaze 1 do you know?

He has promised the contact the MD of GM Spain to get the answers I asked and has said he will forward the e-mail on to me.

I'll be interested to read what you all think.

Hi  Sue & Ray.

Will be interesting to hear what the agent comes back with.

All agents are supposed to give monthly progress reports, once building has commenced. However, this does not always happen.

I will ask Mercers to give their version of the points you raised when  we are there next week.

Then we can compare the different versions!

The albatros @ open are names given to models on sg only they might come under different names in the brochure,i know the open is also called the ROSA and the albatros also comes under another name but i cant remember what it is.

Lets hope its not long now until we are all having a cold beer @ a glass of wine together

Hi Sue and Ray, regarding the updates

Did you buy through a broker or through MASA directly?

We bought through MASA directly and receive all the monthly progress reports through the post and e mails on a regular basis.

I wonder (if you bought through a broker) that the broker is receiving reports from MASA but not sending the reports on to you.

I can't see why MASA would only send reports to some of us and the explanation I have given is the only one I can think of.

MASA may not even send reports to the brokers and it could be the responsibility of the brokers to do the reports.

I know MASA are far from perfect in many departments but our experience of updates has been fine.

Hope you get to the bottom of the problem

Thanks for the reply. It's yet another question I'll be asking tomorrow when I get to Balsicas. I bought through a Spanish agent, whom I used to sell my previous house, this was also a Masa, but much older and on an established residencia, hence buying another

If nothing else - at least it'll be warmer!!

Hi Sue and Ray,

The mix-up has obviously occurred due to Masa International ( A pure estate-agent) and Grupo Masa ( The builders) , being two separate organisations with no connection between the two of them.

If you look on GM's website , you will see all of the various properties listed.
