Flies

On our visit this year to alhama we again found a thousand small flies, all dead thankfully,

we have a empty apartment, which after a time there is no water in the toilet. do they come out of the toilet

any answers please.

 Always water in my toilet even if i leave it for 7mths over winter ........... crack in the pipe/bowl maybe ??

The little fruit flies come out around April/May ......... and i reckoned they were coming in via the air con units, the bathroom/kitchen vents and the cooker hood vent ........ they like beer (lager) and white wine i've found !

We leave our apartment for months at the time and never had a problem. There must be some sort of crack somewhere they're getting in through? Not nice, hopefully you'll get to the bottom of it

 A common problem that i am aware of with flies is owners finding many deasd flies in the bathrooms particularly upper apartments, and rest of apartment if bathroom door left open.

Problem is caused by Birds getting in to the chimney and vents and getting trapped then they die, then the flies arrive? 

Some mesh netting is required around the chimney to prevent this.
