Just  had a phone call from a friend advising us to turn the tv on to ITV. Though filmed in 2010 it showed all po the problems the home owners of Campasol were facing.

We didnt look @ Campasol once we found out who the builder was as we had been advised by Spanish people in Costa Blanca to keep clear of them.

Naturally all the things we were all promised in the early stages of Condado have not materialised but things could be a hell of a lot worse & we could have faced the same crisis as Campasol after the  earthquake ..

But we didnt.

So though we were proud to say we had moved up the ladder to the three quarters full brigade I can say we are now fully paid up members of the full & over flowing brigade

Jan & Ham

Oh no not the “Homes from Hell” scenario again!

There are parts of Camposol that are perfectly stable and trouble free. As I have mentioned in a previous post “look at the colour of the soil surrounding the particular development”. I have seen real 5 star developments built on grey soil, houses are uninhabitable, swimming pools are moving and cracking.

MASA virtually built Torrevieja, is that disappearing into the sea?

The builder has little or nothing to do with it; it’s where they build that’s important….

You are lucky at the moment, you’re not on grey soil, but, they moved a lot of soil during the initial stages of construction, I just hope it was compacted correctly.

I'm no expert on building....do a good fort for the kids out of old boxes and the like

But surely a big part of building developments is choosing where they go??

I realise that a builders skill may be negated if the land he builds on constantly moves or resembles a swamp, but surely the question would be why did he build there in the first place.

Hi Hamibaba.I live on Camposol,so did I miss something, what crisis did Camposol face after the earthquake.I was at home that day and like most of the surrounding area we felt the tremor but as far as I am aware there was no damage on Camposol. We have lived here for 6 years and while we still have problems with the infarstructure we have no problems with our house.

Is Polaris world such a utopia, one very expensive pub, and do you have a golf club yet

Maureen,

I agree, wish we had half the facilities you have! Enjoy your home and don't be put off too much by the "Condado Fan Club"

I watched the programme last night and was horrified by the position that some people now find themselves in, with homes that are barely habitable and subsiding ground. My heart goes out to these individuals.Rather than slagging each others resort off can we not accept that it is very much 'horses for courses' and that we make our.own choices. Condado is not perfect, neither is Camposol, but I use the facililties there and am glad of them.

Maybe I am naive, but we have all bought in to our bit of 'the dream' and it is so hard for those whose dream has turned into a nightmare. I wish them nothing but good..

I hope we can encourage each other as we all strive to get the resort we were promised instead of arguing like kids over the scale of differing problems.

Suggestion, Just look at the ITV programme shown last night, and see what SOME people are having to face day in day out, and stupid comments posted about only one bar and no club house are the most childish I have seen. It is obvisous that certain sections on Camposol have been built on unstable ground, and hopefully the developers will help thse people, and if you saw the programme you would realise they are not talking about a couple of settlement cracks, and a roof leak some of these properties are falling down.

Well Andyclarke some one seems to have rattled your cage this morning.i did whatch the programme,I have friends in that situation and it is dreadful, but I get sick and tired of people knocking Camposol when they dont even live here. I DO.Not sure why you think my comments about the bar are childish or is it a case of  nobody can make comments about were you live.

THE ORIGINAL POSTING WAS ASKING THE QUESTION OF HAMIBABA WHEN HE STATED THAT CAMPOSOL FACED  A CRISIS AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE ,NOW THATS A STUPID COMMENT IN THE LIGHT OF THE POOR PEOPLE IN LORCA.

Moggy,

Maybe the word crisis was incorrect.  But the post merely commented on a TV program and stated that they were thankful they were not in the position of those on that program.

Also stated that CdA is far from what we expected but we should be thankful as some are worse off than us.

I didn't see the program so can't comment on specifics, maybe you thought the comment didn't reflect what you saw in the program?

I don't see why we always get Campasol residents up in arms at any negative comments and then saying well look what you have in CdA.  If you read the forum then you know people are well aware we got shafted by Polaris and our facilities are poor compared with Campasol.  By all means disagree with the comment (I take it you saw the program) but it doesn't add anything to bring up the lack of facilities we have on CdA....we already know about it (for full details ask Darren!!).

People are interested in whats happening to Campasol as they are with Paramount and Alhama.  If Campasol flourishes we get access to more shops etc etc.  Anything negative could affect that.  Campasol isn't my cup of tea but I can see why thousands enjoy living there.  Campasol is a great facility to have close by and has been essential for many of us in CdA.

I can assure you that CdA members on this forum criticise our own resort as much as, no more, than any other development.

Well we have a property on CDA jardines and on camposol A.

Saw the program, not happy with the negative publicity, but then again I can not even try to understand the sorrows the poor affected people feel.

We don't have any problems ourselves other then the house aging now, but that is normal. fact is that some people got the short straw on camposol possibly coz Masa got greedy at the end. When you look where certain properties are build you think Hmmmm.... but look it also happens in UK, building on flood planes etc etc.  Some builders just want to make a fast return... Most don't care...

Its not just camposol, most developments have issues. Some peolple have issues on CDA, la Torre Roda golf etc etc. Unless you buy on an established development and a house that has been there for years and is in good structrual nick see the amnimities etc then you can buy with more certainty.

Buying off plan is a risk.. we all knew that.. Now cash is running out in Spain, god knows what is going to happen to not only developments but with the state of the villages it self.

Anyway I enjoy both properties, even though both could have been better. Half Full brigade

Firstly can I say that I was not slaging any one off.

Though the programm was out dated I felt really sorry for those owners who were interviewed. I know that the comittee on Campasol work very hard & the area looks a lot different from that seen on the programme

I agree that your facilities are much better than on Condado. In fact we often go to Campasol for  breakfast or evening meal & the supermarket is great

The only reason I bought up the subject was to highlight to many on Condado that, fingers crossed we will not & as yet have not had to face such problems .

If I ofended anyone on Campasol then I apologise as that was not my intention

Hi to all on Polaris world, yes I think we all have to agree were ever we live none of us got quite what we were promised.I have friends who know the couple who were featured on Homes from hell and as usuall these types of programes only dwell on the negatives. And yes it must be heart breaking to see the home you have worked hard for to end up in such a terrible state, and no one will accept responsability for it,least of all the developer. But there is a lot more posotives to Camposol and other urbanisations which does not make good T.V.But life is what you make it and we would still rather be here than England. The only good think to come out of these situations is any brits buying now are aware of the problems and can decide what is best for them.may be we were a bit niave buying off plan 10 years ago,who would do that now,but life is not to bad at the moment,so fingers crossed long may it continue. So were ever any of us live ,life is to short lets enjoy what we have and take each day as it comes.

Do you think its a brit thing that we worry about thinks that the spanish just seem to accept,oh well I think its time for another glass of wine and enjoy the lovely evening,so I wish the same to all of you out there were ever we live.Have a good evening.

Hi Spainmove. If you want to go to Camposol ignore the negativity. I've lived in Condado The Port and Camposol where I am at the moment. Obviously bargain properties. Lots of people here love it and wouldn't live anywhere else. As to where to buy I honestly would rent cheaply for a 6 mths long term rental to get a feel of where you want to be as it's such a big place. You may even decide it's not for you here. I personally think this is the best thing to do. We are a nation of housebuyers but over here it's very different. Different sectors of Camposol have different things to offer. Good luck with what you decide to do.
