What's the paint colour?

Hi,

I'm coming over at the end of August for a break and also to repaint the terrace as the paint is beginning to flake and peel off. I was wondering whether anyone knew what the colour of the paint is (for block 13, staircase 52) and where would be best to get it from (Leyroy Merlin?).

I tried uploading some images of the exterior of the apartment but I wasn't allowed but the block is about half way up the hill if you take the road to the right at the roundabout and is light yellow in colour. (If someone thinks they might know then please say and I will try to send the images)

Also, I've got a blind that needs putting up so if anyone had an electric drill that I could borrow I would be really grateful! I'll be over from the 31st August until the 7th September.

I don't know the colour but we took some flakes of the paint to the paint shop in sabinillas (on the corner near the ferraterias on the mercadona side).  They matched it and mixed some for us.

Okay thanks - did the paint match up and look okay once it had dried? Also, do you know the name of the shop please as from memory and Google maps, there is a Ferreteria next door to "Bernardo Munoz" and another next door to the "English Bookshop".

It was a good match and i was a paint shop on a corner close to a cafe and opposite another.  I'm afraid I can't remember the name but it was on the one of the turn offs you might take to get to the post office (the second turn off - the first being the one with paparazzi pizza on it).  I'm sorry I can't be more help though I am sure any other paint shops would provide the same service.  I think others on here have used the same shop so someone else will probably be able to give you better directions.

When someone can identify the exact location of this paint shop please let me know.

I've tried a paint shop on the roundabout near the post office and they shrugged shoulders and said an exact match was not possible and sold me a can of something that might be useful to someone in the next block but is not match for my balcony.

I also want touch up paint for indoors but just cannot find a match.

Is it not up to the community to repaint ? otherwise the whole of Duquesa village will look like a patchwork quilt!!!!!!!!!

It is indeed up to the community to repaint the exterior (though in fact the developer has been promising for years to repaint defective paintwork). We are however responsible for the paining of the interiors of our own terraces I am sure.

I also think it would be highly noticeable if the interior of the terrace is a different shade of colour.

Yes I suppose it will be if people do not get good paint matches or if they choose to use other colours. I wonder what other communities do. Do you have any idea?

I have seen a few terraces repainted and believe me ,"They never quite match up".

hi, I took a flake and i went to pinturas mata in Estepona,they have in Marbella a scanner colour machine and in a few days i got exact colour 5 kg tank for 32 eur.

You only have to keeP reference number for next buy.

Like Jeff we found the Sabi shop gave a great match and in fact I touched up areas of our terrace last week and no one could tell where the new and old paint was.
