We have been waiting for our house the same length of time as many of you and we know how frustrating it is. We purchased our house in April 2004 and realise now that we were a little naive to think it would be completed in September 2005! However looking at what had to be done to the site from the start it’s understandable that it has taken a long time.

We have friends who have bought on Camposol and told us to expect 3/4 years as this is how long they waited for their homes.

I don't think MASA are out to shaft us all, they just seem really bad at estimating how long it takes to do develop a site and their lack of ability to communicate properly only makes this worse.

Having said this we are not waiting to move to Spain and for those who are we understand this wait could be extremely frustrating.

We are now nearly there so it’s worth remembering just how nice the site is. Let’s be positive and keep our chins up.

Mandy & Barry

Hi Barry J,

Quite right mate, we also have been waiting since May 2004, seems a long time ago, but you are right, September 2005 was never on. The lack of communication, coupled to the poor forcasting of completion dates by the Agents showed GM up in a very poor light. Whilst various completion dates have been banded around, as far as I can see, they all seem to have come from selling Agents rather than the Builder. Draw your own conclusions.

As you say, the site looks great, and I'm sure we will all be happy with the final result when we take possession. We are certainly looking forward to it, but having waited nearly 3 years, are quite happy to wait a couple of months.

One final point, I notice on one SG website, some people who say that they are so fed up waiting, that they are going to sell because of the wait. Talk about "cutting your nose of.............etc.,etc., Even if they were able to, how silly!!

Keeping our chins up as ever,

John & Mary 15-32 & 16-79.

Hi

I know I havent had a long to wait as most of you but I really think Barry is right. Although I can sympathise I dont really know what the wait has been like, I am very excited and dread to think what you all must be feeling and not fair of me to comment but when I seen the site last month my tummy was somersaulting. I really think it will be fantastic. Hang in there we're on the home straight and we will all be sitting sipping our sangria saying, It wasnt really that bad. It seems a big deal looking forward but nothing looking back.

I think we all need to help keep eachothers spirits up rather than posting negative thoughts, it just gets everyone irritated.

Hi all

I am one of the people who has posted my disappointment with MASA on this site.  I'm sorry, I didn't mean to irritate anyone, I was just expressing my frustrations with MASAs duplicity and incompetence.

My comments in no way refer to the potential of the site, which I believe is great.  Between us, our family have bought 2 houses on SG, I think that's proof enough.  We know the area well, have friends resident nearby and couldn't think of a better place to be.

My anger is focused at MASA who offered refunds for those wanting or needing to be released from the contract - following their own breach of their own contract.  Due to a significant change of circumstances, we accepted the offer to end the contract.  MASA reneged on the agreement, causing considerable stress for a prolonged period of time - over 12 months of hassle with solicitors and getting nowhere.

My negativity is about the unnecessary additional costs that now come with my son having to complete when a) MASA could have followed through with the offer to release the contract or b) they could have let us sell the contract on before completion- which, when buying in March 2004, we were told could be done.

We are not silly, or trying to cut our noses off.  Family waited years for our off-plan house to be finished in Pilar but had good and regular communication from the developer ( Golf Invest) which did loads to help the wait.  That house and the whole area is now fabulous and more than worth the wait.  My son and I visited SG recently and he is so disappointed that he has to sell.  He (we) can see how fab it will be, not only when we get the keys, but over the next few years as the whole project is completed.  For those who can't hang-on it's not so easy.

I wholeheartedly agree your comments, it is an exciting time and will be a lovely place.
