For all residents and guests who are around on Thursday 24th Feb, there is a barbecue and quiz at Miguel's cafe/bar. The Barbie will be available from just after 5.00p.m. and the fun quiz (British based) will commence around 7.00p.m...,. well at least it will be fun for some!!

All are welcome, including children.

Why not join in with a chance to meet other people on site?

Thanks for that John, sounds like a fun evening.  Unfortunately we will not be around but it reminded me of something I was going to ask, I thought Miguels cafe/bar was closing at the end of last year.  I had heard that Miguels Contract was not being renewed.  Was that just rumour or has someone else taken it over?   Hope the evening is a success!

Anita

Anita, Miguel's bar is still open and, we believe, being upgraded..... new furniture ordered?, TV with British football (in place) , new menu for food (in place) and more regular opening hours (nearly in place).

Looks like Miguel will be around until the Clubhouse finally opens (allegedly in Sept/Oct but we have heard this before). Will not know for sure about the Clubhouse until Calidona/Corvera tell us officially.

Ladygolfer, not sure yet what will be on around 5th March but will almost certainly be something. Will keep everyone posted when I find out. We will still be here then.

Thanks John.  Glad Miguel is still there, his BBQs are a good way for owners to meet up until the Clubhouse is built  - hope the no smoking ban has been put in force :)

Oh yes. Smoking ban in place and being adhered to virtually everywher and certainly at Miguel's .

Should have said that some of the girls have started a walking club on a Monday, Wednesday & Friday.  Initially, this is around the perimiter of the golf course but who knows how this will develop. Also, a small group are goung to try the "zumba" classes at La Torre. So looks like the girls are getting some organisation started to do the things they want.

Hi, if any of the ladies in the walking club is reading this, please could you PM me as I'm interested in joining the group.  Will be out on 10th March for a couple of days then back in April/May/June/July/September.  Always enjoy having a walk around the perimeter of the complex when I'm out there but also interested in walking a bit further afield and happy to help with organising if required.

May also be interested in the zumba class!

Thanks, Christine

I was over in Miguels last night and got a very nice T Bone steak - very good value too. As John P said below he is planning a quiz type night tonight. He's trying to make a bit of a go and deserves some support.

During my Feb visit to Corvera I enjoyed a round of golf with resident hairdresser Pelly (he cuts by appointment at Miguels, as does Lorraine). Whilst on course we saw Lorraine (his good lady, who is also a qualified aerobics instructor) and a couple of the ladies doing the 'ladies fitness trail'. This involves a bit of power-walking between the areas that contain the fitness machines mixed in with sessions on them as well. I believe that she intends to run these excursions 2 or 3 times a week. Ask at Miguels.

ps. I'm told that the fitness machines are the blue metal things with levers and footplates etc that you can see dotted around the site. Being such a fitness fanatic (not) myself , I thought they were contemporary sculptures

Agreed Frank.  Miguel seems to be making a real go of the bar now, especially with the evening menu.  Also more consistant opening hours means planning visits down a little easier.  Should also be getting the television up and running for those that like to have a beer and watch their sport.

Once again as with other visits we left with very heavy hearts.  Looking forward to next visit already.

Ian

Yet another chance to join in with a barbecue and (British based) quiz night at Miguel's cafe bar. This follows the very successful similar event which was held in February.

The Barbie starts at 5.00 p.m. on Friday 1st April with the quiz following on at 7.00.p.m. As before, all are welcome. Ideal team size is 4 but minor variations are acceptable. Singles or couples will be merged into appropriate size teams.

Come along and join in the opportunity to meet other residents on Corvera.

Just got back from Corvera early hours of this morning.  We have a 2 bed Tilo on phase 2.  We completed in 2009 & thanks to Roy & Lorraine are very happy with our property.  We have been over a few times in the last 18 months, but still seem to be trying to find our feet & meet other owners.  We are over again on 30th April until 5th May & would be interested to meet as many people as possible.  Does anyone know if there is anything planned at Miguels during that time.  Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi All,

Been a while since I have been on this forum and interested to see if things have moved forward or staying put, me and a business friend bought into the phase 3 and 3 years later with no plan we were able to get our deposits returned.

Some will say well done and best out of it, although sad as the dream fell flat, still keeping an eye on Corvera and hope some of you are happy and making the best of it.

KJ
