Ryanair & Easyjet

Neither Ryanair, Bournemouth to murcia or Easyjet, Bristol to Murcia, had released winter air fares for these routes last time I looked.

I have now been told that Ryanair is shutting this service after October until further notice. What I do not know if thiis is prompted by Ryanair or are there contractual problems with Murcia airport bearing in mind that there is a new airport at Corvera is very stages of construction.

Any news from the Spanish end please?

Hi firstly the new airport at corvera is not yet ready in will not be ready for about another year ryanair and eazyjet do stop flights in the winter months and  Bournemouth  being a  small airport is one of the first to be stoped can't say the same for bristol hope this helps

Last year in the winter we flew to Murcia from East Midlands & London Luton with Ryanair, but they don't seem to have loaded any of these flights yet. I have tried phoning on the 10p a minute line to find out what is happening, but keep getting cut off.

They did cut the number of days they flew in the winter last year, but still flew out 3 days a week.

If anyone knows anymore we would be grateful to hear from you.

Ryanair are fed up with the Spanish goverment,because they gave Air Nostrum a 3million incentive to bring passengers into Murcia region. Got Ryanairs back up as Air Nostrum passenger numbers have fell by 23% and Ryanair delivers 49% of all people arriving in Murcia airport, so have cut flights to Murcia , and increased into Alicante, which of course is the Costa Blanca area.

 Any news on when Corvera Airport will be open??

At the moment EasyJet has the monopoly of flying into San Javier from Gatwick and their fares are totally ridiculous and expensive.

I'm hoping once Corvera is open there will be a bit more competition for flights from the UK and prices will drop.
