Unfortunately this law will only come into practise in a Liquidation scenario and would have placed purchasers above the banks on the creditors list.  And judging by the feedback from the meetings we may have lost this opportunity.

Also reported was that there were two people from the 'Save Our House' commitee as one person put it, who attended each of the meetings trying to gather support for the proposal.  Any guesses who these might have been?

Hi redman

I was intrigued by your comment.  "Judging  by the feedback from the meetings" - are you saying that most people at the meetings were going to vote Yes?  Also, was the turnout high, as those people who wanted to vote No wouldn´t necessarily have bothered attending?

We are going to a meeting at the SADM development on Thursday evening. We are expecting most people there to be Spanish, so are interested in finding out how they intend to vote.

Sue

Sue,

Reports suggest that there were between 40 and 50 people at each meeting, but difficult to say how many couples.  The questioning seemed very tame and the majority appeared to sign up, whether for money or property, I don't know,

There were people claiming to be property developers who had bought a number of properties. Again saying how much they trust SJ.  I find this hard to believe that they would want to continue with the build as any property developer worth their salt would know that the resaleability of these properties would be very low, as would the rental market.  So difficult to say if these were plants.

I sort of guessed that most who were attending these meetings would be saying yes either way.  But also this might only represent in total less than half of the 966 outstanding contracts.

It is still in the hands of the major creditors.  But this new legislation needs to be examined further.

Would be interested in the Spanish meeting, I'm sure they will have more inside information and you may get a truer picture.

Regards,

Hi Redman

I attended only the Saturday meetingalong  with my wife Margaret none other meetings although Tony did go to the others on his own. And I can say that at the london meeting and I believe that you will find that no " gathering Support" was done  only one comment/qustion from Tony. I did chat to a couple of people but that was after they had signed as far as I know.

Brianmags your pathetic attempt at defending SARC's position is fundamentally flawed and inaccurate .How do you explain the emails sent out to purchasers by SARC pleading HdTs case . Pleeeease Brian don't even go there .You and Tony no longer have a legal leg to stand on !!!!!

Hi JA,

You are a very sad person. If you had any decency you would go away and keep very very quiet! You have your money and you and very seflish group are trying all you can to get those without BG's to lose thier money.

I was at those meetings, met loads of people and they were not very complimtentary of you or your fellow posters .Many also thanked SARC for all of its hard work in trying to get us all out of this awfull mess, without losing everything and were amazed a t how we put up with you crass behaviour. So I ha ve stood at the back of meetings & been available for purchasers to come and speak to and ask questions etc. No one complained about SARC!

As for the letters that the SARC Executive asked HdT to email out to the English speakers, it was explained on the top why this unusual step was being taken. The letter on behalf of the SARC Executive and had 3 names on it, A Malpass, B Dornan & L Needham. We are fighting to protect our members money.

I WANT A POSTIVE OUTCOME FOR ALL

SAVE YOUR MONEY, SAVE YOUR HOUSE, SAVE SADM!
