HR Town Centre

Just wondering how Polaris are doing regarding progressing the town centre on Hacienda?

A further update from a resident 15/4/10

The town centre is really coming on now. The roof tiles are virtually fully on now on the courtyard buildings. The dovecote roof is on and the surrounding area has been hardcored at the front towards the road and excavated behind.

There was activity inside the Hacienda yesterday and I believe I was looking at new timber window frames. There has also been some significant pruning of the palm trees and other trees at the front of the Hacienda and this now looks very attractive.

Just thought I'd put an update here about the Town Centre - we've just returned from two glorious weeks on the Resort,  and although there didn't appear to be much building activity during the first week,  during the second week it all seemed to take off.

There were cement lorries arriving,  lots of roofing guys tiling, other building deliveries going on,  They have flattened out one large area for the car park - which is virtually opposite the current pro-shop.

We spoke with one of the pro's who said that the town centre would be finished by the end of June - because the Spanish PGA had given them a deadline to get the final facilities in place,  or they would not give the course PGA status.  He said there would be teams of workmen coming in to finish the work.....  Anyone over there at the end of May might like to post an update?  And on through June?? 

This chap said that the plans looked great,  with a lovely terrace overlooking the 9th and 19th greens.... shame we can't all see a copy of the plans!

We did manage to scramble into the area one evening,  but there is still a huge amount of work to do - so we shall just have to wait and see....

Weather was superb for our fortnight,  hot and sunny, with a light breeze. Perfect!

Just like to say I'm so glad to hear that PW are at last getting on with finishing the town centre on your fantastic resort. I stayed on it last year as a rental and I must say out of ALL the PW resorts, if I had bought on one it would have been HR. I actually own at Corvera (just up the road) but will definately be visiting again sometime to play the golf course which I think is really great. Perhaps I'll wait until  can enjoy a meal after at the Hacienda rather than just a drink in the "woodhouse". Anyway congratulations and I hope all goes well for HR.

PS. I have stayed on most PW sites so this is an informed judgement.

With the downstairs restaurant and bar (El Cason) opening last night we now have, after 6 years of waiting, a small commercial centre to call our own.

Already open is the golf pro-shop, supermarket and dovecote bar.  Although on a smaller scale than the original plans (the hairdressers and CAM bank branch are no longer included) we now have somewhere for our friends and renters to go.
