While in San Cayetano last November a man called at the apartment we were in seemingly collecting for a childrens charity in San Javier and seeking funds for a barbecue to be held there. He spoke Spanish only with much mentioning of ' Communidad '. Any one able to shed any light on this. Is he genuine or is he a scammer ?

We also had somebody knocking on our door, I smelt a rat and sent him packing when he made some random names up and said they had donated 20 euros. Since we were the only people living on phase 2 at the time I wondered where he had got the names from lol.
 

Since then I have heard it is illegal to collect door to door in Spain,I'm not sure  how true this is though, so if anyone can clarify it!

I had somesome come also. I knew it was a con so I asked him for the bank details and told him i would pay money direct (this is common here to pay money straight into a set up charity account). He couldnt provide me with any bank details.... what a suprise!
