Telefonica

Hi,

I am moving out to DV in 5 weeks and one of my friends who also lives in DV has been told by Telefonica that they can't have a telephone line.  I am sure that other people have had lines put in on DV.  Could anyone who has had a line connected please let me know how they managed to persuade Telefonica to connect the line please?

Daniela, Telefónica is obliged by law to provide the fixed telephone service throughout the country, then requires you to use your phone in your home DV, which is more interested adsl but they can not refuse to install a line, If so report it, we are many that do not support a phone and some years only interested in the stock market and business in America but is still almost a monopoly in areas such as Manilva. suerte!

I have just had broadband, including a landline, installed in our apartment in DV.  I went to the Telefonica/Movistar office in Sabinillas (just down towards the sea on the left coming from the main round-a-bout where Barclays Bank/Supersol/Bernardo Munoz is).  It took four working days, basically!  They were excellent.  Called me first (on my mobile, obviously!) then came round, installed the wifi router, explained the telephone connection and we were off.  I bought a cheap phone for the landline from Carrefour and it works fine!!  They're doing a good deal at the moment to include broadband, too.

I'm also relocating to DV for a while, from Dubai, aim to be there at about the same time as you!  Mid-September.  If I can help in any way, just PM me.
