El Pinet

Hi all,

As I said previous I was out there but no information was available so I am greatful to the previous for the updates.

It doesn't suprise me that we have been handed the pools but as there is issues with them. Why is it coming out of our funds/money?

Not only are people who are renting using the pools (not a problem if the owners are paying) but people from the village and beyond. That I have a problem with.

Does anyone know if there is an agenda for the next meeting?

Has anyone got an email or fax number for the administrators, Mediterraneo. Save a walk to Torra.

DBR there were mozzies and a few cockroaches. Had to return to the UK so not sure of the last.

You may be unaware that following a meeting with Meditteraneo on 20th July it was decided not to proceed with today's AGM because they are not in a position to do a final audit due to information not received from San Jose?

The following extracts are taken from the minutes.

'Progress towards habitation certificates is now on hold. The good news is that Elche Council has inspected the site and is happy with all the work, roads, lights etc. but cannot progress further until Iberdrola(Electricity Company) have completed the work on the underground cable to replace the overhead wire. You may have seen the two partly built pylons. Iberdrola and San Jose are trying to find a solution to the problem.

You will know by now that to give a date for any work or stages is to raise false hopes and expectations but we are closer than ever to a satisfactory outcome. Many people are working to keep this process going and to maintain facilities, and with consideration and co-operation we will soon achieve our goal'

I have delayed posting this in the hope that it would appear on the El Pinet website. No such luck. Why do they take so long to up date owners?

This is a step in the right direction to getting a final result for the majority of us.

I can't see why its an EP/SJ problem with the electric pylons? I feel it will be the end of the season before they can shut the power off to the properties on the front. Seeing as there are hostals and bars. I would think it could take 3-4 days to get the new pylons finished, cables connected then testing.

It will be interesting to see what Elche council do with the land in front of the M4-M5 properties. Also the other area.

Got to EP  yesterday morning. Nothing looking different to Easter really. There was a couple of robbers, possibly morocans in a French car, who stole a handbag +.    we need to keep eyes and ears open,,watch for distraction crime, sad but if there is  nobody with you treat strangers with contempt or major suspicion  ,. the water was off for a while. As with others i am told the pylons are a problem..i think  the one in the middle of the road is a serious one, Sat out tonight.bites.  wow  is that good. Pools are good but there are some people using them who should not be! Some are 'smoking' weeds!

I am one of the unlucky people that bought a property at el pinet before it was built and then they went into administration. I received an email from San Jose this week stating that the administration situation will be sorted out soon and that they would be getting back to me with a proposal. Does anyone have any further information? 

Hi Jason, the latest news is that SJ appear to be coming out of Administration and are writing to all Owners to confirm this fact.

They need the support of all Owners to complete the estate and this is what the letter is about. Any queries, contact Norman Harris who is assisting SJ and is based at the Show House. He does not work for them but is a great intermidiary between Owners and SJ. 

Is that the Norman Harris from Jamaica who thinks the English have got an attitude problem and want to always blame someone?

Like most things you can only reflect on personal experiences and as San Jose have had 110k of mine for 7 years I am also very frustrated.  However, on speaking to Norman recently he seems to understand the situation and was helpful giving me more information and confidence in reaching a final solution.

I found him ok, very friendly, helpful, it was just those comments he came out with. He was confident that all the properties were going to be finished. Which is good news for those have been waiting a very long time.

Agreed and he did say that despite the rumours of properties being demolished, all properties will be completed.

We just have to wait and see.

Has anyone heard the outcome of the meeting the other day (Saturday 21st August) with the EP administartors?

I've been told that the details of the meeting will be on tyhe website soon. I just got back from El Pinet today and was told that they hoped that the water would be connected by the end of September but that the electricity may take somewhat longer

I have heard two stories with the electric, as you do. One is that SJ owe "a sum of money" to Iberdro. The other is a little more beliveable in the pylon's need to be completed with the underground cables. This would mean shuting the power off the the hostals and the properties on the sea front.

I heard that a new sub station needed to be built and that the electricity co wanted a bond before starting. The cable between the pylons is in BUT the pylons need to be completed. The power will need to be cut to the hostels etc so they may wait until 'out of season'.
