Hi all,

Know this is a bit early, to say the least.   I heard Condado was 'dead', last Christmas.

My daughter and her family ( 2 young children 6 and 1) are going to stay in my apartment on Jardin 3.  Anyone know if it is likely to be lively , will there be many people about and will the foro restaurant and bar be open?  anything happening in the area?

Thanks Sue

Hi Sue

I wasn't out last Christmas but I did arrive on the 28th Dec to the 3rd Jan.  So I don't know about Christmas but  it was quiet for me and I do know alot of people were saying it was quiet over Christmas.  But after New Year alot of Spanish people were arriving for their Christmas which they celibrate on the 6th January.

So that's last year, when 1,500 properties built and say maybe 900/1,000 apartments completed.

What's now.........

Near on 3,500 properties built I wouldn't like to say how many have completed.

By Christmas the golf course will be up and running, we now have a town centre (Al Kazar)  with an Irish bar, and maybe a another resturant, club house and most of all alot more full time residents!

I really can't say there is any comparisment !

Anyway there is another Community thread on Eye on Spain under Condado De Alhama there are alot of friendly people and more info on there.

Hi Sue

Tell them to take warm clothes as it is COLD at night that time of year. Days are a bit like our Spring. Anyway they should have a good time.

Hi all,

Can't believe you lot are even discussing Xmas, some peeps haven't had there summer hols yet.  We were out last year 19 to 24th December, I wore strappy tops with a cardi on top and this was suffice for during the day but at night a jacket was required. The weather when we were out was fantastic, crisp bright mornings with sunny afternoons and cold dry evenings.

Can't guarantee  same this year

hi all,

thanks for info, and glad there'll be at least 2 'lots' of you - should have fun!!  at least the bar is open now and hopefully the restaurant soon

they should  be OK, and weather wont be much of a change, as they live in Portugal, and will be driving up.  It'll be nice to have change of scenery i guess.

Hi Everyone,

Thought I would revive this thread as we are considering a visit over the holiday period 23-29th Dec, flight prices are not too bad. How quiet/lively do you think it will be on site and would we be able to get Christmas lunch anywhere or will I have to cook it myself?  Perhaps the residents could throw a little light on this for me.

Thanks,

Pauline

Hi Ashleigh

Hope to see you and your mam in the Clover on New Years Eve if it's open.  Does your brother know if they will be doing anything special?

We'll probably see you before that when we are over at half term.

It would be nice if we could all see in the new year together and meet up with more of our neighbours.

George

Good Luck with that !!   Hope you dont get stopped by the guardia civil as they are swarming all airports for illegal taxiing.  If its an english care you are planning to drive, i would be careful because i wouldnt like to be like a women from camposol that got her car crushed and a €1000 fine.

Hi Ashleigh,

Never thought I would thank the Guardia Civil..............one less woman driver on the road then.  Oh and stop taking part in this forum.  Get on with your homework.

I will be asking questions when I see you at Christmas, such as:-

1)  Where has your mum hidden the alcohol?

2)  Where in particular is that bottle of rum I saw in your mums hands?

3)  Am I drunk yet?

4)  What time will Al kasar serve alcohol till?

5)  Where's all the parties

6)  Can you notice a pattern emerging here?
