Fiesta time in Jumilla

Fiesta season is well underway in Spain, with San Fermin celebrations starting today and lasting 4 days.  I know many of you have been here before for the Vendimia, which apart from Semana Santa is the main event of the year, so thought you might like more details.

The Fiesta de la Vendimia in Jumilla is from 13 to 23 August, according to our leaflet obtained from the local tourist office. The traditional Cabalgata is on Thursday 20 August from 20.00. The Gran Cabalgaga del Vino is on Saturday 22 August from 19.00. All times of course are very approximate!!!  If anybody would like to meet up when they are here, just send me a PM

                           great to have your live update from Jumila !

We are in Spain early August and had intended to get to the final grand parade on the Saturday evening ( as we did last year ), however the schedule of events seem to be extended and run one week later than previous years and we travel back to UK on 17th August.

DRAT , DRAT and DOUBLE DRAT !!! 

PS : - Please try to persuade the locals to move it forward a few days.

Sorry to say, we don't have that much influence with the mayor.......!  There may be a few things going on earlier, though nothing like the Gran Cabalgata I'm afraid.  If you fancy coming over to Jumilla and meeting up, it would be good to see you both.  Just send me a PM with details.
