I have been told by a fully qualified refrigeration engineer who deals in aircon that you do not need an inverter unit in a ducted system so the ducting machine will be cheaper and use less power. The split unit for the other floor is better as an inverter however.

In the current economic climate DO NOT send massive deposits for bulk orders.   20 deposits to unknown people or companies could be enough for a bunk.  Be careful.

I have been reading the info on this board with interest and am amazed at some of the prices being quoted. There is a fully legal, Airconditioning company working in the area who have done alot of business for me and my clients (including Roda) who can do the Mirto, Tilo Menta and Laurel 2 bed aparts at 2150e.  MiRTO  1 bed 1999e

Villa Nogal 2950e,  Magnolia 2300e

These are all FUJITSU General machines, fully guaranteed, fitted by fully qualified refrigeration engineers working for a fully legal company. All prices include vat and installation and INDIVIDUAL CLIENT PURCHASE  no need for group bookings. Payments can be made by credit card (very small additional charge) for increased security.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

Hi Kenny, t

The e-mail address is pctairconditioning@hotmail.com, and the site is pct airconditioning.  I am seriously considering using this company as they were recommended by someone on this site who have used them, and also because of the four year guarantee.  They are not interested in bulk purchasing just as long as they know further work will come.  They are basing the price on trust.  I did get this quote a few months back so the price may have increased.  If anyone is interested, please e-mail the company direct and just say the info was gained off the Corvera eyeonspain forum, just so they can get an idea of numbers of purchasers they may be interested.

Any further info would be of interest.

Regards, Anita.

Have you not got it round the wrong way,From what we have researched, in the last few days an inverter machine is cheaper to run than a conventional machine, the ducted unit being the largest unit we shall use in our properties, and the most power consuming, surely

it makes sense to have this as the inverter, and the least used upper floor machine as the non inverter.

Secondly.

I read with interest this "4 year warranty on our work",any confident installer can give you 20 year warranty on thier work, its not going to be the installer warranty on his work if your machine breaks down with an internal problem

We have had a number of quotes, most seem to be of the brand fujitsu general, again we have done a little reserach.this brand is marketed by Eurofred in the city of Elche,Eurofred being from what we have been told are the sole world wide distribtors of the

fujitsu brand,we have been told that the compressor has 3 year warranty and the electrics and circuit boards 2 years, this is from the manufacture,so dont read 4 year warranty in our work as the manufactures warranty ,and who would give more warranty than the manufacture would, you would have to be silly.

Hi Eliza

Do you have a contact and pricing from this company?  Also, has anyone you know used them?  Recommendations go a long way.

Regards, Anita.

Hello Anita

We have had an electrical retail out for 15 years, this is why we are being very careful about who we choose,we spoke to an English gentleman at Eurofred,he is head of service technical support ,english speaking for Europe and the uk.

One suprising thing was he tells me that they do not repair the machines themslves, and is in the case, with most of the manufactures of air conditioning units sold in spain.

their agreement is with the installers to repair with there support and parts under warranty,he also told us to be very careful who installs, check the internet for references, ensure you have a site adressand landline telphone number, and long established ,so many operators come and go,he also told us for every 1 legal business there are 5 illlegal operators, however good they portray themselves,we found this very worrying.

We asked him who he would reccomend.

He would only recomend three companies of the multitude out there.

Simply aircon, Polar air, and Climazone

of which we have obtained quotes from, perhaps you should contact them.

Eliza,

Please dont shoot the messenger. I am only saying what I have been told. The company I have used will supply both invertor and standard machines and there is a price difference. They take each property at its own merrits i.e.size and useage. But they did suggest that for rental use with ducted system that standard units are quite suitable. They did give me prices for ducted inverters but I left it at work so i will put them on on thursday. The difference with them (and this is why I now use them in all my new properties) is that they will provide you a system that most suits your own needs and not the one that costs you the most.

I deal in fact not fiction, I have installed my own aircon (from carrefour) when i first came over (8 years ago), made a pigs ear of it, then got a quote from the paper and had a few done by a "professional" man in a van who supplied me under powered machines that initially were reasonably cheap but then cost me a fortune as they had to be on all the time and eventually packed up and the man had gone in his van. Over the passed 18 months I have done a further 3 which keep the property cool (or hot in winter), cost me less than the man in his van, were correctly fitted, have been properly serviced.

Just had an e-mail from James at pctairconditioning.  He said that he will be doing a site survey to enable him to have a better idea of what he should be providing.  He will come back to me when he has visited.  If you are interested in his company, please contact him direct and let him know you are from the Corvera eyeonspain forum as you will get a more competitive price than those who are not part of this group.  Would be an idea to post on here who you are considering using so we have a better idea of bulk purchasing.  Just to re-iterate, we do not have to pay large bulk deposits to get this price, as far as I can gather, James will honour his price on word of mouth orders.

Anita.

Thanks for that Eliza, the more information the better.  The quote below is for a 3 bedroom split level apartment, did he quote for a 2 bed split level apartment as well.  I was wondering if ours would need 30000btu or if 24000 would suffice.

Kind regards, Anita.

Hi Eliza

I have been working on the Condado de Alhama Polaris World site now for seven months since people started completing  , and the only Air Con people that I would recomend are Polar Air as they have done approx 80% of installations there , as I have Light Fittings etc , if you look on the Condado Forum you will see the recomendations.
