I visited last month and called in on a firm called Ilucom, which is situated just off of the AP7 on the poligona industrial estate, which is on the road between Los Alcazares and Torre Pacheco.

I spoke to Louise for a guesstimate of how much it would cost to air-con a two-bed apartment..

She gave me a copy of a quote for one they had done at Roda

Mitsuco, ducted a/c. Ducted 6.5 kw hot & cold for 2-bed apartment. Functional humidefail, low noise,R410A, 2 year guarantee, installed for a grand total of

Euro 1929.00

They have a website; www.ilucom.com

They also have a fantastic range of lighting and the showroom is dead easy to find.

6.5kw,  you better check your property has sufficient supply to cope with that. 3.3kw supply is standard. it should be on your tech spec.

Hairbear

I didn't go into detail as it's too early yet (foundations aren't yet laid). I take it 6.5 kw is the heat OUTPUT, not power input?

That means the input will be even higher. With aircon you usually get what you pay for within reason. A good brand will usually be more efficient and will pay for the difference within a couple of years( a good quality system should last you at least 10 years of normal use). If you are renting out your property your renters are unlikely to turn off the aircon when they open the patio door etc etc.

Please note that I am not trying to persuade you to buy from another store but just ask the same company about some branded models and compare the consumption rates as well as the life expectancy especially if you are renting your property out. Also note that some companies i.e Fujitsu make ranges under other names that are the same on the inside just slightly different on the outside. Fujitsu makes Daitsu abit like Volkswagen make Seat (Leon is a Golf chasis with different body). Look out for these as they offer a great saving on good quality product.

Thanks HB all comments noted. Hopefully I'll be able to learn a lot more from my good neighbours on phases 1 & 2 and make my decisions based on their experiences as well.

All I know for sure is that air-con is as important in the summer as a roof over your head in the winter at Corvera

Just realised (dope or what), the aircon system at Corvera will be same as Roda i.e. Ducted.  This requires a different system which tends to be more expensive so check what you need.

Hi Moll, we did have group interest previously, but as many purchasers are now not intending on completion I'm not sure who is still out there.  Maybe people will reply to this posting.  I'm on phase I and would be interested.

Anita.

Hi Folks, After receiving the quote from Corvera I sent same off to Gary at Polarair who has been reccomended by owners in Roda and have said how happy they were with his total package. I have contact with him a number of tiimes over the past few months he comes agross has a nice guy who knows his stuff and no pressure. See below his comments and suggestions to the quote fron Corvera. This is only one company, we should maybe look at others, it's just that this company have done work at Roda and people are happy with him. I would be quite happy to have a look around for the best product and price if a few of us do get together. I also have a friend in this business in UK so I could bounce the technical stuff off him. Please let be know?

Ron
Just looked at sanyo prices online.
Below is the price of  2430.00 euros to buy,and  they are telling you  you are getting a  24% discount and free fitting for 3387.00 euros, who's telling porkies ?
we would never sell this product, their reputation is not good, also the energy efficiency if you look is E/D,we only install products with A/B efficiency,it would cost you a lot of money to run a machine of this grade.
most ducted units last 10-12 years, why would anyone want to pay for it over thirty years on a mortgage.
WE WOULD PROPOSE TO USE THE FUJITSU GENERAL30000BTU INVERTER AT 2750.00 EUROS FITTED AND IS CLASS A/B
ALSO WOULD FIT A PANASONIC INVERTER FOR THE SPLIT ON THE SECOND FLOOR AT 650.00 EUROS,SO BASICALLY BY GOING WITH US THE SAVING WOULD BE THAT YOU ARE GETTING THE PANASONIC FREE AND BOTH APPLIANCES ARE OF A ENERGY RATED

REGARDS GARY

Hi Ron

Yes we would be interested in a bulk purchase.  The quote you have received seems good.  We are on Phase II for Dec completion.

Hi Folks, Following the first reply from Polarair. I thought I would try for a little extra dicount. Please see below the "E" sent and received over the past couple of days.. please let me know if you want to move ahead with this or look for other quotes. Can we get 20 owners to agree?
  Regards
  Ron
Gary, thanks for the inf..  Just a thought.  If I could get some Corvera owners together completing Phase 1/2 & 3 could you look a reduction in total cost?
             Regards
                Ron.
Hi Ron
Lets take a look at the whole issue.Covera are asking for 3387.00 for the 2/3 bedroom and  864.00 for the split second floor totaling
4251.00 euros,as I said we can offer both packages for the 3387.00,resulting in, as against their price ,you are getting the split upper floor free. The offer is for Fujitsu general brand, and Panasonic. We have already saved you 937.00 euros on their price, and with a far better product.
The only further saving we can make is  by using a lower quality priced product, what do you think your contacts would prefer ? If you think they are looking for a lower product let us know and we will look and see what we can do,I know we can get lower, but you are compromising quality

Regards Gary

Hi Gary, You make a good point..we do not what a lower quality but a extra 8/10% off the price for a bulk order would be nice.
             Regards
                Ron.
Ron
If you can get 20 clients together I will bring it to 3150.00 but that the absolute limit we can work too.

regards Gary

Hi icspain, it was pctairconditioning - James Turney.  Just found my posting from previously.

Many thanks for your recent enquiry for our air conditioning services, it is always nice to receive new business for existing clients.

As discussed we have completed a great deal of work for clients on the existing Roda golf resort, and as such we are confident of the quality of the pre-installation work provided by your builder, and can quote on that basis, without a site survey, though this would be nice to do nearer the time, just to dot the i´s etc.

With the "ducted" system that you have had "pre-installed" in your apartments, basically there is an internal unit (evaporator), and an external unit (condenser).  the pre-installation is composed of the refrigerant pipework, interconnecting electrical cables, condensation tubing , and the ductwork in your house.  The beauty of this system is that as the homeowner, you do not see any machines (all you have is a small LCD control panel in the lounge) as the evaporator is installed in a false ceiling, and the condenser is positioned up on the roof.

The standard apartments on the original Roda site require 24,000 btus, to heat and cool the apartments, and we install General Inverter units for these apartments for 2400 euros.  An inverter is a device which improves the efficiency of your machine greatly, and thus saves you money over time.

We pride ourselves on our aftersales care, and we are second to none on our client relations.  We offer a four year guarantee on all our work, the majority of companies over here offer one or two years.  I understand that there are a few people looking to have this installed at the same time, and as such please refer them to my website so that they can get a better idea of where we are coming from as a company.  I am also open for offering a better deal should a confirmed number of people show interest in this, but this is just a preliminary email to touch base and start the ball rolling.

James

PCT airconditioning.

James also made the following comment

We find that if people want to contact us direct, and let us know that they are involved in the agreement, then they will all be treated equally.  As for deposits for multiple clients, and ordering multiple machines, this becomes unworkable, so it is best to have direct contact with me for all these, and i can liaise on a personal basis with all clients.

The prices given also include IVA and installation.

Definitely one to bear in mind.

Regards, Anita.

I am a 2 bedroom apartment on the first floor Pablo said the outside  unit would go on the roof but the roof above us is the penthouse.

I would expect the price for a 2 bed to be less than a 3 bed with split flooring. You can count me in on the bulk buying.

Anita

We have a 2 bed Magnolia villa.  Is the 2400 price for apartments only.  If you dont know then no worries, as I will contact direct, as this price seems good, esp with the 4 year warranty.

Are you using them for your Phase I apartment ?

Do you have contact email or tel. no for them ?

Kenny
