Hi

Just a quick one ..I'm sure that I've seen a thread before about this before ....but doing a quick search I can't find it.

Can anyone confirm which Debit and/or Credit card(s) you can use when booking flights with Ryanair to avoid the 'exorbitant' card fees?

(Have just booked some flights at a really good price for September but our 'bargain' has been somewhat marred by the 2 x £9.50 'handling fees'!!)

Many thanks!

Hi

I know we have just done the same with ryan air and found it did not matter even if you paid on debit card it still charged. we got free flights by the time we finnished it was £107 having said that still a good price.

I think you have to use a Visa Electron card to avoid Ryanair fees, think I saw that on Watchdog during an interview with Michael O'Reilly.

Jenny

There is a whole thread on the General Forums see

http://www.eyeonspain.com/Secure/ForumPostsDesc.aspx?thread=5200&dev=FB19&name=Flights%20to%20Spain%20and%20airports

Marco is correct only Electron Cards incur NO fees that thread should tell you where you can get one.

If you have an account with The Halifax in Spain the card supplied for the ATM is a Visa Electron so I pay no charges when booking flights on Ryanair or Easyjet

Not many banks offer this as the card is aimed at students, but Abbey do offer an Electron card on current accounts.  Used mine last week with no Ryanair charge.
