I purchased into phase II with MRI, i was wondering if anyone is using their after sales membership service (fee of 265 Euros) and getting a good service?

Hi Hollybrook yes to aftersales .Purchased also on phase 2.Have had calls from rentals and reckon on getting 700 to 1000 euros per month long term rentals which they recommended as not much finished on course to attract short term let.Furniture package people also called advising on Costa Blanca modern pack but with same restrictions as Roda for rentals so catch 22 .Roda cos of being onsite and probably with De Veres input in course of time or Macanthony with exposure through tv but not impressed with their rentals website as does not work .Rarely get to speak to same person twice presume company getting bigger but this is not a complaint just an observation.Would be interested in your thoughts on this.

Regards teejay

Hi,

We are on phase 3 and were offered a similar after sales service, but decided to make good use of EOS website/massage boards and so far do not feel as if we have missed anything. Also Roda official website seems well maintained with up to date construction photos. I think it depends very much on why you feel you need it?

Would anyone recomend an agents after sales service based on good worthwhile experience?

I need to sort out NIE numbers for my wife and i, and subsequently was planning that the MRI aftersales service would help me sort this out, but after coming under alot of sales pressure to take up their aftersales service and then to buy their recommended furniture pack, i don't feel i can trust them. An MRI sales person kept ringing me up, to talk me into putting a deposit down on their furniture package, and this was during the days leading up to when Roda Golf started to advertise their furniture package on their website, i was told that over 800 hundred roda golf purchasers had already ordered their furniture package through MRI and if i didn't secure the furniture package i would loose out (typical sale talk), i was also told the furniture package would have every possible item i needed, but when i started to focus on what it contained it was obvious it didnt have a lot of items. Anyway i didnt purchase the furniture package and i postponed paying for the aftersale service membership. By reading the messages from the forum which are a very good source of help and information, i have come to the conclusion that i really need to see it before buying the furniture package, so maybe go for villapac.

Hi Regarding the NIE numbers I don't think you need any kind of after sales service for that. Our solicitor told us that there are police stations with foreign departments in Cartegena, and Alicante. With the former you apply in person then have to go back in c. 2 weeks in order to collect the documents, as you are the only ones who can do so. However in Alicante (60 mins driving from Roda) you can obtain the documents the same day. The police station is in Alicante is in C/ Campo de Mirra, 6. I have a copy of an Alicante street map with street highlighted that I could send you if you need it.

I have some info on how to complete the NIE application forms in advance and a pdf of the actual form itself kindly supplied to us by someone else on this forum. If you want copes send me an E-mail address.

All the best.

Hi teejay,

I spoke to my MRI Sales rep, who has always been a source of help and support, so i feel better about using the LiftTime aftersale service. They also provide other services as well as helping with the NIE numbers such as snagging and cleaning, keyholding, rentals and fee pickups from the airport, so on, I will let you know how i get on.

I got the following information from MRI short term rentals, as a rough estimate: first year 13 -15 weeks, second year  18 weeks and third year 22 - 24 weeks. Also i have found the http://www.murciagolfowners.co.uk/ good source of information on working out expenses etc for renting.

Regards

Hollybrook

Hi,

We have taken up the Lifetime Aftersales with MRI, because we thought we would get a good service. Unfortunately, we never seem to have the same point of contact for very long (and they are in Marbella, not Murcia!) and still feel in the dark about furniture, rentals etc.  However, we are going out in February and hope to get some answers then.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Also, when we asked about mortgages, we had hardsell from their brokers - if we didn't get our mortgage soon, the best offers would run out!!

Hi J&J,

Do not accept all this crap from MRI, just terminate your agreement with them.!!!

There is no problem with finding a mortgage in Murcia, in fact the Halifax in LA are looking for new customers.

Hi J & J

Sugarmummy is right. You don’t need people acting on your behalf. If you have a good solicitor and have a shop round your self, there is no reason why you can’t get a good deal. We are with Deucher Bank and when we first started looking (a year ago) they were one of the best and really helpful. We work for our selves and have a very busy life stile, but we always find the time to sit at the computer and compare deals. By the way who are MRI (sounds like a disease), are they who you bought through? We bought through Remax and they have been great every step of the way. They even did a pre snagging list for us, and come along the day we completed and did the final snag with us.

Good Luck

Mike & Linda

Ps What phase are you on?

I agree MRI sounds very infectious, just like a virus on the web.

This company sell properties all over the world and even have their own channel on Sky tv.

Dump them now and if you need another agent/ management company there are plenty around who have offices near to Roda G&BR.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies.  Have to say our MRI rep was very good, it's just the aftersales seems a bit dodgy.  Having paid for one year's subscription will review when renewal comes around.  J & J

Hi we had terrible service from day one with MRI , i should paste on here the letter i sent to them originally, you just would not believe the service we received , like a few on here we have decided not to use them again, and we have been given 12 months free aftersales cover , and an offer of a  free apartment for a week due to all the problems we had,  we will not be taking them up on either and the offers are free.

Regards

Gary and Sue
