Hi we are coming over for the New Year and staying at our house in San Cayetano. This is the first new year that we have been there. Can anyone tell me if there is anything special happening in the village from the 28th December to 4th January? Thanks.

Hi All
My questions the same except we are there for Christmas, 20 - 26 Dec. We will have grandchildren with us, so all ages of interest.
Any info appreciated
Cheers Pauline

Hi All
I have been reading the places of interest thread which I'm sure will be really useful now we are all signed up and furnished (I look forward to adding to it). I wondered if Calesparra was too far seems as we are only there for 6 days, although it looks and sounds great I wondered if it was a 'wait while summer' day out, anyone know how long it takes to drive there?
We may end up just staying close by if the weather is good, what's it like at the moment, is it warm enough to go walking on the beach and just 'chilling out'? When I say all ages I mean there is quite a gap 3 and 11.
Cheers Pauline

Hi
Calasparra is about an hour and a half drive from San Cayetano, the scenery is amazing on the drive up and there is a church in the side of the mountain which is worth a visit, but it is north of here up in the mountains so will be quite chilly at this time of year

Hi and thanks, I think we'll save that for the summer then, we'll probably enjoy it more.
I know they'll really enjoy looking around San Cayetano, Los Alcazaraz and a drive out to La Manga or Murcia. They are really looking forward to it, daughter says she's going for a swim, I've offered to look after the towel oh and flask!
Cathy, I have been talking to a Spanish colleague and she says that they celebrate New Year with a late family meal and go out after midnight, so the village should be liveley until morning.
Cheers Pauline
