PARKING IN THE TOWNS

Hi All,
          As my husband has never driven in Spain before question is where do you park and the dos and don'ts of parking, do you have to pay to park,  we are going to Marrazon on Monday to do the wills and feel like a new driver.help!!!

Mazzaron isn't an easy place to get parking, only nipped there to get some cigaretes and had to use the back streets which are narrow and full of cars, didn't pay for parking but was only there for 10 mins.

Hiya Pauldpo,   Oh dear what do I do  the only thing that I can think is to park in a supermarket  never been there ourselves only taken by Parador,  got satnav her name is Emily.

I do know there is a underground car park in Mazarron and I have had a quick look back on the threads ' cause someone has given very good direction to it.  If I get time later I will have another look for.

My friends have driven previously but I am going to have my first go next week at driving so watch everybody!!!!  he he!!  So there will be "2 crazy english people" on the roads next week!!

As you say Ruth will see you in the flesh next week!!!!

I have looked up and down the threads , me no find the directions  but I know someone posted them a couple of months ago.  I haven't  got time now, but start a new thread someone is bound to have them!!    

We fly out on Sunday for a week and am planning on going shopping solo.  Not sure if its a good idea or not but as long as I avoid roundabouts I should be fine!

Can't wait to go and also see you all with or without clothes although it might be chilly......not a bean in the apartment so I got 3 suitcases and 3 hand luggage for 3 of us.

Just gotg ood news with my snagging ( Emma from snagitmurcia.co.uk).   Good news about my delivery of applainces! So I might not be driving now as I'll be flying without wings he he he!!!!

I think we are all going to have to wear great big badges so we know who's who!!  

Most of the major shops/stores are just on the outskirts of Mazzaron with parking outside.

If you follow the main road (Avenue de Constitution) into the town centre (it ain't that big) as most of it is on the outskirts, then turn left up any of the side streets there are usually plenty of free spots, and dead easy to keep driving round till you find a spot as they're all one-way so you just re-trace your steps back to the main rd then try a different side street

Thanks Shampers for the directions  gonna allow a bit more time to get there ourselves cos we cancelled Parador lady no point now no free furniture.

How did you get on with driving!  Strange when I was on the road there was no one else on them!  Was there a warning before hand?  I found the driving okay even managed to get to Mazarron and park up!  Pat on the back for me!  How did you find the parking?

Think Ruth might still be looking for a spot in Mazzarron.......... gotta drive in front ways or the car won't fit remember

JUST LOGGED BACK IN AFTER THE TRIP TO CONDADO.  FIRST IT TOOK 3 HOURS TO GET THERE FROM ALICANTE COS DIRECTIONS SAID TURN OFF AT 627B OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND TOOK US OFF THE ROAD AND GOT LOST SO WE PUT IN THE NEAREST POINT IN THE SATNAV WHICH WAS LOS MUNOCHES AND HOORAH IT PUT US BACK ON TRACK ON THE RM2 AND THEN THE RM23 ACCIDENTLY BUMPED INTO THE ROAD TO "CONDADO DE ALHAMA"
WELL PALM TREES I NEVER HAVE SEEN SO MANY PALM TREES IN ALL MY LIFE.
WHAT A WASTE THEY COULD HAVE MADE A THEME PARK INSTEAD.
MY HUSBAND FOUND THE DRIVING FINE AND DECIDED TO HAVE A MANUAL CAR A FORD FOCUS ESTATE IDEAL FOR IKEA SHOPPING.
YES WE FOUND MAZARRON AND WENT TO A PLACE CALLED MUEBLES FOR OUR BEDS, IT LOOKS EXPENSIVE BUT YOU CAN GET ALL YOUR LARGE ELECTRICALS IN THERE WASHING MACHINE FOR THE SAME PRICE AS OVER HERE.
BEST PLACE FOR LUNCH IS THE TEAPOT CAFE NEXT TO THE SUPERMARKET.
WE WENT INTO A SHOP CALLED 4PLUMES WITH THE ASSISTANT TO GO DOWNSTAIRS AND THE DOOR SHUT AND WE WERE ALL LOCKED IN THE STAIRWELL UNTIL SOMEONE GOT US OUT. WE STILL DID NOT BUY ANYTHING.
NO AIRCON WORKING IN APARTMENT AND NO WATER GLAD WE STAYED IN ARLENES APARTMENT.  THE TILES ON THE STEPS WERE LAID BY A DRUNK RUSSIAN COS THEY ARE ON THE **** SO REPORTED IT TO POLARIS WORLD LEFT THEM TO FIX IT.  DISAPPOINTED WITH LOUNGE SPACE BUT ALL ELSE IS GREAT AFTERALL ITS ONLY TO GET ON THE LADDER AND THEN WOULD LIKE A VILLA(DREAM DREAM)
WELL I HOPE I WILL CATCH YOU ALL NEXT TIME, PS LOG INTO ANGLO INFO TO KNOW WHATS AROUND US AND EVERYTHING ELSE.
