Hi All

Thanks for all of you who are trying to put those of us who have not completed at ease, we read the negitive comments and because we are not there probably blow them out of all proportion, we are still aiming for October to complete so will see for ourselves then, but again thanks for support.

Byro and Family ( got in trouble off the wife for just putting my name) same nagging different country ha ha lol

Hi Byro,

Sorry if I sounded negative, I'm not. We were one of the very first to put down our deposit and finally took over last Christmas. No regrets, the build quality in our house is excellent, we have nice neighbours and eventually when the shops etc are open it will be a great place to be. If you buy a newbuild in Britain you can also have problems, Spain is no different it just takes them longer to sort things
out. We want to be in Spain to enjoy their way of life, unfortunatly that means that things happen slowly. We have just come back after spending three weeks there and I would have been more than happy to stay.

Davina

Hi Davina,

Quite right, we were also among the first to put a deposit down, and waited for literally years for completion. When it came available in september last year, we arranged to complete, but at the last minute, GM moved the goalposts (the day to sign), and we couldn't change the flight. We eventually completed in January.

As you say, no regrets, the villa is great (despite the customary flood due to the boiler mount being drilled into a water pipe - that's another story) and we have had 4 good holidays there since the signing - the last one in July was for over 3 weeks, and we would have liked to stay much longer. The build quality of the villa is good, despite what some guys say on this site, and are excellent value for money. We have stayed at a number of Golf resorts in the area over the past 2 years, and while some of them look great on TV, staying in them is a different matter.  SG is definitely going to be one of the better ones, rest assured!  We are also blessed with nice neighbours, and have found everyone at SG great company - have you noticed that everyone waves or says hello in SG - ever seen this happen in the UK ?

We've had the lot on this site over the last 2/3 years. Apparent problems on agents, cancelling contracts, building, water & electrics, habitation certs., snagging, lighting, negative comments about the site,  etc., etc., (oops... and GM) but the end result is great, and we are more than happy with what we have, and wouldn't change it.

So, Byro & family, look forward to October - be reassured - you will love it here!!

John B.

Like Davina & John B I also put down a deposit back in may 2004 & several times considered pulling out because of the long wait but I held on & completed dec 2007, now I would'nt sell for love or money it's the best thing that I ever invested in. 'er in doors & me have also had four trips to SG  with another visit in sept (can't wait) for two weeks & with everything done & in place we can relax some what to enjoy Spain.
I have been lucky with no major problems, just a small leak from the boiler & the pipes put on the wrong way round so other than that a very smooth completion, like everybody say's people on SG are very friendly & help full which you would'nt see too much in England & once the shops are up & running there'll be no stopping to the enjoyment of SG & of course with the add bonus of golf (one day) the place will be alive.

The Fromies.

Great
When you do you realise that it is lots of socialising to get to know everyone and when you go for walks it is much longer as so many people will invite you in for a drink and chat. so give yourself lots of time.

We also met our great neighbours who even checked up when we were later hoem one night thanks mum Sandra it was great to know people care and to repeat where in the uk do we get this wonderful sense of comradeship.
We are planning our next trip already and workoing out when for next year.

SG is great with all the flaws.
