Test Drive Living in Almeria - House Sitting Opportunity

Hi all

I know this information has been put out a long time ago, but I don't know where to look for it. Can anyone tell me the full postal address for Block 1, Phase 1. I know the other blocks have different addresses. I just thought I would open a new thread so its easy for everyone to find in future, if they need the information for building & contents insurance etc.

There is a building number and a block number  - I don't know your building number but I don't think it's that important.  The address is

Thanks for that. Was there not "Calle Sierra Nevada" in the address, as that's the name of the road that goes around the back of our block.

CL Sierra De Cazorla is the road at the front of your block -  in the  letters from the Town Hall this is the 1st line of the address

I got an email from the foreign residents office at the town hall. It says your details on the population register and on local taxes, have to match in order to get the discount. You may need to check you have both registered the correct address, as you have both given slightly different addresses. The office is open 9 - 1pm Monday to Friday. For others looking to register, the cut off date is 31st December 2008 for next years discount. You will need to bring your purchase title deeds (Escritura de compra-venta ), original passports, Certificate of the National Police Station stating your N.I.E number and your full address in town ( this means the street, street number, name of building etc ). The fee is € 2.30.

Davmunster, I remember you saying we should not have paid for the rubbish collection for 2007 and should claim a refund. Was the 2 bills that we got in our post boxes a few months ago with the bar codes on one of these bills that covered 2007 & 2008, or 2007 only. How and where do we claim this back. Have you claimed yours back. How much are we due back.

As it was the nice lady in the foreign residents office that filled our application for the population register I expect she got it right. If there is ever a difference between what Gericom posts and I do - I'd go with Gericom!
On your other point the 2 bills you refer to show the date in the top left hand corner - mine are clearly 2008. The 2007 refuse collection charge was a relatively small amount. We got a white A5 piece of paper in our letter box requesting we went to the town hall and when we went they told us we owed whatever it was and we needed to pay in cash. If you didn't pay it you can't claim it back but if you did you take your receipt to the cash office and they will refund it. If you paid it and didn't keep the receipt you can't claim it back either.
