Spain's Best

Simple...a series of lists declaring Spain's "best" in anything and everything...they may be lists compiled by independent reviewers or by myself....whichever, I hope you find them useful :-)

TOP 10 Beaches : Andalucia
Tuesday, February 4, 2014 @ 12:22 PM

Spain has hundreds of beaches and deciding the which one is the best is an impossible task but reducing it to regions does make the task slightly easier. The free newspaper 20 minutes did a survey not so long ago and tried to discover the best beaches in Andalucia. These were the final results from the "Spanish votes".

Do you agree with the results or have some of other beaches been under valued?

Until the new sewage plant is completed (finally under construction) in Nerja, I'm not sure how any beach in Nerja manages to come into the top 10 beaches! The slick that sometimes floats on the surface of the sea, close to shore, is not a pleasant sight. But then again, if you stay out of the sea, perhaps the beach facilities at the top of the beach (rather than at shoreline) makes it qualify.

I'm just glad the plant will be up and running in the next couple of years but in the meantime, I'll avoid the sea in Nerja.

I love Cabopino too and also, there is a stretch of beach up near Estepona by Cancelada Pueblo that is good too with a lovely walk to some great beach bars in both directions.

How can the playa Barrosa not be in the first 10 and only merit a mention? It surely is up there in the ranking with Bolonia, wouldn't you agree? And I must mention that the playa de la Caleta in Cadiz and the playa in .Chipiona are both lovely but very very overcrowded, while there are beaches between Rota and Chipiona that are excellent and havn't been mentioned at all.
