London bus kills Spanish tourist

A SPANISH tourist has been killed after being hit by a London bus at the Charing Cross Road-Shaftesbury Avenue junction. The 48-year-old was crossing the road with her husband and two children at the time, say the Metropolitan police. Three of them were taken to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, where the woman's 18-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son are in a serious but stable condition. The woman's husband was unhurt.

And why the hell should anyone be arrested? It was an accident for God's sake. Wrong place, wrong time... Hands up all of those who have stepped off the pavement after checking for traffic coming from the wrong direction, as in checking for traffic coming from the left in England, or from the right in the rest of Europe... done it myself in Amsterdam and damn near got demolished by a moving tram... Would they have arrested the tram driver if it hit me?
