living a great life in Spain

my story is about my life in Spain and the fun I have, from renting holiday villas to swimming in the sea.

Javeas Bubble
Friday, March 2, 2012 @ 8:54 PM

Javea is in a bubble and I love it. Whilst the outside world worries about the financial crisis new shops, bars and restaurants of high quality are springing up.

My holiday bookings are way up on the last few years and you can almost smell opportunity in the air.

I have just come back from lunch with one of my villa owners who has sold her villa ro return to Great Britain for her retirement to be closer to family and friends, we had a lovely time on the Arenal where the restaurant of our choice was bustling with people of many  nationalities.

This morning I visited clients at a villa I have near Javea Golf Course, their three children were happily playing in the garden in the sunshine as we took time for a coffee and a chat. It is part of the business I love, this time of year I have the time but in August it can be a bit difficult to spend any time with clients socially as it is manic!

I will be advertising soon for more cleaners, the most important people in the job as first impressions are so important in holiday villas and then I will really feel as thought the holiday season has started.

With that in mind I think I will take a book down to the rocky beach tomoorw and relax before it all starts happening !

Sounds wonderful. I recently made a mental note to contact you next time I want to visit Spain (after a coffee with your lively daughter Sarra, a dear friend).
Its been my intention to one day do a villa holiday and I intend to ensure I do very soon.

Thanks for your comments Graeme, I am pleased to hear it is going well for you too. Whats your demographic? I seem to be getting lots more European bookings this year

I have recently returned to the UK but would be interested in applying for a cleaning position during the summer season. I would need to rent a two bedroom villa and wondered if you could help with that also?

Kind regards.

Loved this positive piece . I own in Benitachell and had nothing but negative vibes for the last five years . The press continue to always show the land grab and the crisis in other parts of the Costas and you never really get to read an upbeat article on what I consider one of the most beautiful places in the world . Thank you and kind regards David

"new shops, bars and restaurants of high quality are springing up" - all good signs! Can't wait. Roll on summer!

Hi Pearl Linda. I've just read your article on Javea's Bubble. It's wonderful to read something really positive, there is so much negativity in other parts of Spain. I too have lived in Spain for over 20 years and hope to move to Javea in the not too distant future, we think it's a wonderful place. My husband will be retiring and looking to "move into" the bowling club but I'm not ready to be put out to grass yet and will keep in touch re possibly working for you.

When I read articles like this one or I visit the market of Jalon etc..and I see how british people enjoy the good things of the Valencia and Alicante coast, i feel very happy. Thank you because you give a lot of colour with the rest of foreign people.

Hi Pearl
Just loved your article; amidst all the gloom and doom it was great to read something sunny and upbeat. Like yourself, I too have lived in Spain for ages, I work autonomously, doing general problem solving, I have included the link to my blog site which lists the sort of work that I do. Added to which I have several years experience in both the holiday and long term rental industry and with “no luggage” I am able to do jobs such as: antisocial meet and greet, last minute contracts etc. Therefore, if you feel that we could collaborate in some form do please give me a call on 609 156 759 or email info@bobbyfrostservices.net and if not, let’s just get together for the heck of it, and ………over a coffee or a glass of wine, count our blessings for choosing Spain as our home!
Kind regards
Bobby
