Action begins !

The seed had been sewn and now action was needed, big action.

Barry went with Felipe to see the Mayor, who told them, we would have to tender for the bar and couldn't just take over Felipes contract.

Felipe closed his bar down and set up a successful phone shop in the town, when the opportunities arrived he moved it to the slightly larger town of Tijola, five minutes drive away, where he is still thriving.

I started going into the town hall on a daily basis asking for the tender ! Not ready, not yet.
This gave Rocia and I a change to prepare for what the town hall would ask for. They would want to see what activities you would put on for the old people (as it was the old people's bar). What we could offer in every area. We also put in place an accountant, who is also a lawyer, so that all that side was squared up and we could get the contact checked by him before we signed.

Barry and I continued our Spanish classes with Rocia, but now things changed to teaching us what drinks were in spanish and the huge amounts of different coffees and different names for the same thing.

The time laps gave us time to prepare, but you can never totally prepare, the biggest lessons are taught in the situation. And it turned into a baptism of fire.

The months ticked slowly by, October arrived and we returned to England for my Grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary. It was a lovely evening all the family, my cousins, my aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles. People I knew I was related to but had no clue how ! Mum had known all of them, who they were, their names, ages and how they fitted into the family tree. No other family member had the same knowledge as her, Nan of course would know but she was a little busy ! Mum was really missed that night, by us all, it was the first family gathering since her funeral, the mix of sure joy to be celebrating such an amazing event and the pain of knowing Mum would have been the organiser if things had been different, made for an emotional visit.
