Living with the Presidente.

It's been all go for El Presidente and Moi.........Benidorm for 6 nights over Christmas, then back to the ranch, then off out tonight for New Years Eve party !!!!

Benidorm was great but I wouldn't want to live there ! It's far too 'British' but we enjojed ourselves, even tho we were exhausted when we got home.

We stayed at the Venus Hotel and all the food was included. We had a Gala dinner on Christmas Day which included soup, salmon, turkey, Xmas pud and strawberry and champagne gataeu and wine ans sweeties. Then when we left the dining room, I turned to say thankyou to the waitress and went a*** over t** on a baby carrot and landed heavily on the floor !! I felt such a p*** !! Another guest rushed up to me as I was hoisted into a chair and stuck her face in mine and said...you need ice on that............I gritted my teeth and thought...the only ice I want is in my Passoa thankyou very much and what I really want now is a cigarette !!!

The entertainment at the Hotel was the same every night so we stumbled around the streets of Benidorm each night and popped into some of the best free entertainment I've seen. We saw 'Elvis', 'Take That', Peatloaf ( Brilliant ), 'Cher' and lots of others. El Presidente was unfortunate enough to be sitting next to the isle when we saw a really good comediene who was not too 'rude', and of course El Presidente had to join in the 'fun' and became the butt of one or two jokes !!!

We went to Rich Bitch ( we've been before ) and it was excellent. One of the Ladyboys did a take off of Sticky Vicky and believe me he/she was better than the real thing!!

Our English Communal TV system is up and running so those who have had it installed don't have to worry about thier TV being turned off and no longer have to pay a monthly fee ( thankyou Nortons ).

El Presidente will be preparing for our AGM which is in May but takes quite a lot of preparation if everyone is to get a chance to have a say. I think this year has probably been more peaceful here than the preceeding years, except of course, for the hostilities in the pool in the summer.......................I have suggested to El Presidente that all those who caused chaos in the pool this year should be brought back now and MADE to swim in the pool......I think it should be a Community Rule !!!!!

Today is my birthday and it is no secret that I'm now 62. The day started well with cards and pressies and e-mails. El Presidente gave me a wonderful card and a silver cat (  a pretend cat......I love cats, but he doesn't ).........................and the day went downhill from there !!!!

First I had to go to the dentist cos I broke a tooth on Sunday evening on a chocolate from a Cadbury's Advent calander ! I couldn't visit the dentist yesterday cos it was a holiday so it had to be today. I said I just wanted an emergency dressing in it and I would sort it after Christmas ( coward that I am ! ) but the dentist was having none of it so I ended up with an injection and a filling and a reconstituted tooth.............and a sore mouth !!

This afternoon we had our monthly Committee meeting at which I take the minutes, my face was still numb so I just grunted !! ( so did everybody else ).

El Presidente had decided to take me for a birthday meal which was a nice intention..........what is it about the road to hell being paved with good intentions??? 

The doorbell rang, El Presidente disappeared,

the phone rang,

an owner called to be added to the satellite TV list,

an owner complained that he was not yet connected........and on and on and on....................

El Presidente re appeared and so did another owner wanting to be added to the TV list. He was a new owner so El Presidente had to spend some time answering his questions and then the TV installers arrived and of course, El Presidente disappeared again.

By the time any sort of calm descended on our apartment it was too late to go where we intended so we dashed off to the local Menu del dia at the Chinese!!!!!

Not to worry, there's always another day.................but not another when I'm 62 !!

I'm not sure El Presidente will reach his next birthday in February if he carries on disappearing like he does !!

I've nearly done all my Christmas shopping and all El Presidente has to do is pick up the bill !!   

Everything over here ( UK ) is FULL of Christmas........big trees in the city centre covered in pretend snow, lots and lots of lights, Christmas musak blaring out from all the shops, people running backwards and forwards with wrapping paper and Big parcels ( and no smiles ) and McDonalds are selling a mincemeat and custard pie instead of the usual apple pie.

It's raining AGAIN today and I really wish I'd brought more woollies..................still.................Matalan has a really good selection.............................and I'm off to Nottingham a bit later today and they have a Primark !!    ......

Still, it has been good to see the kids and friends and I've still got seeing my granddaughter take the lead in her school play to come.........................but I miss El Presidente and funnily enough, I miss the Community !!!  .......thinking now I've completely LOST IT  !!!!!
