ACTIN, making changes for animals in Spain.

Animal care Treatment International Network has been set up to make changes for the animals in Spain, who suffer abandonment and cruelty. What we plan to do is to bring awareness of the problems to the world’s media. We need to promote education, new legislation and support neutering campaigns. It is necessary to get support Internationally to put pressure to bear on the Spanish government and to persuade them to take more responsibility for the lack of animal welfare in Spain. ACTIN plans in the future to bring about these changes through media awareness. Actin will tell the truth of how it is on an everyday basis, particularly in the country villages of Murcia, where there is a lot of ignorance and abuse. They will tell of what the volunteers deal with and how the abuse of animals is getting worse. ACTIN will endeavor to bring about campaigns for sterilization and education in schools. There is a need for a Society to protect the animals and this is what ACTIN aim to do in the future but we need much support to achieve our aims.

The dogs of Galifa - a horrible hidden secret

The dogs of Galifa - a horrible hidden secret near a beautiful coastal area.

Please help us, we are sorry to ask for help but what else do we do? We don't close our eyes to cruelty.

This is very urgent – this report has been sent to us by residents of this village. They have seen dogs lying dead on the ends of chains and this has been going on too long.

NO, This is not a ghetto town in the 3rd world but a village called Galifa, near the beautiful city of Cartagena. This is an area near a popular coastal resort, where people from all over Europe have holiday homes. Yes, it is a stunning and wonderful landscape, with so much beauty, unless you look closely and see the horrible secrets within this village…where people go to Church and dress in their Sunday best but think it is ok to treat animals as though they are less than nothing.

Below: This is the only water they have, full of seaweed and green....

Actin is going to launch a campaign to rescue or improve the conditions of these animals in Galifa , a village in the district of Cartagena that seems to be forgetting that animals should be treated with respect , what we’ve found there is terrible; dogs tied up to mini chains which prevents them to even move, ears cut flush , terrified dogs , one with his eye beaten, mothers with babies , corpses scattered around live animals, some also hanging from the trees.

Neighbours say the dogs are fed old bread and remains of dead animals like horses or sheep, we must also make sure that the horses , donkeys , goats, sheep and chickens are ok ….. the Civil Guard is already aware , we are expecting the visit of Seprona to lift proper complaints or denuncias, there are at least 3 cases in particular , we will need support to carry out this project and help these poor animals that barely survive and die in the worst conditions.

As you know ACTIN is not a rescue so we will need help as the lack of space is a problem for us now , local shelters who can provide care , adoptions, sponsorships , donations.

Mother and puppies are very urgent , and the small brown dog with an injured eye needs urgent help.
