ACTIN, making changes for animals in Spain.

Animal care Treatment International Network has been set up to make changes for the animals in Spain, who suffer abandonment and cruelty. What we plan to do is to bring awareness of the problems to the world’s media. We need to promote education, new legislation and support neutering campaigns. It is necessary to get support Internationally to put pressure to bear on the Spanish government and to persuade them to take more responsibility for the lack of animal welfare in Spain. ACTIN plans in the future to bring about these changes through media awareness. Actin will tell the truth of how it is on an everyday basis, particularly in the country villages of Murcia, where there is a lot of ignorance and abuse. They will tell of what the volunteers deal with and how the abuse of animals is getting worse. ACTIN will endeavor to bring about campaigns for sterilization and education in schools. There is a need for a Society to protect the animals and this is what ACTIN aim to do in the future but we need much support to achieve our aims.

URGENT: Raising funds for Rasta's rescue
Saturday, September 28, 2013 @ 11:21 AM

On Sunday 22nd September we rescued 3 dogs from a balcony of a duplex. The photos sent to us were of a Yorkshire Terrier and a Fox Terrier and a 3rd that barely resembled a dog. The person reporting had listened to the pitiful cries of one of the dog's till they could bare it no longer and asked Actin to help.

We believed the 3rd dog was very sick with tumours on its body and had our vet on stand-by. The tumours turned out to be the worst case of neglect of a long haired dog, ( Llasa Apso), that we, or our vet had ever seen. Four years of continual hair growth for this poor dog and no care for any of these dogs.

They are now safe but the veterinary costs and care for them is mounting and we need help and support for them. The Llasa Apso is suffering from malnutrition, we do not know how he survived. The other 2 Sweetypie the Yorkshire Terrier, and Griff the Fox Terrier faired slightly better. Rasta's heavy coat, weighed 2.5 kilos and the poor dog weighs the same.

We are asking for donations for these 3, as we have many rescues at the moment and ever increasing vet fees and residency costs. So far we estimate that Rasta's rescue will amount to 800 Euros and this is a conservative estimate.

Please help by donating for these dogs who are lucky to be free. The link for PayPal is here https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=H7L8ULMMXA5CC or you can go to our website www.actin-spain.com where we have a donation page and the full story of Rasta's rescue.
